Perhaps it depends on how you deliver the message. If you say that you believe someone is wrong and then lay out the reasons for your own belief, that isn't bashing. However, when you start making generalized attacks on the people that believe the other position, that is bashing.
Here's an example I encountered in an online class I taught a few years ago. A student posted an article about the societal consequences of driving an SUV (excessive gasoline use, more damage caused in accidents, problems with parking and navigating roads, etc...) that promoted banning such vehicles. Quite a few of the students posted messages discussing these consequences and argued against the ban for various reasons (e.g., the need for vehicles that accomodate large families, specialized needs of some professions, etc...). There was certainly a lot of disagreement among the class, but none of it was bashing...until a student posted a message that said that "all people who drive an SUV are selfish and spoiled and don't care about other people". His decision to personalize the debate by calling people on one side "selfish" (etc...) WAS bashing!
If you say you disagree with my beliefs, that isn't bashing...but if you then say that I am stupid, irrational, uneducated or any other insult you can think of because I choose to believe that way, that IS bashing!
some of the issues mentioned in the article (e.g.,

Any question asked with sincerity is worthy of an answer that is equally sincere. As a Christian I deplore persons of all faiths or non faith who bash others that are truly seeking information. On the other hand I am not above a little sarcasm to match sarcasm and this can be done without bashing or belittling any one. There are a lot of people who have not developed their ability to be tactful and get their point across without butting the other persons head or point of view., these people are not limited to believers it includes non believers too.

Bashing is doing that, "gotcha," game.
You can't play, "Gotcha!" with someone that's firmly set on believing their doctrine and that their church is true.
Therefore, it's called bashing when you point to a particular belief (most "bashers" like to do one belief at a time) and explain the rest of the church to be wrong because of it.
(Yes, poking holes is a form of a "Gotcha!" game)
If you ask a question on a particular belief for the purpose of getting an answer and not playing, "Gotcha!"...then it simply is a question. Most people are able to discern how a question can become a, "Gotcha!" game.

Send me an opposing view and we will talk, I believe in Jesus Christ and the Resurrection. I believe Jesus is the only way to Heaven, I believe he died on a cross for my sins and yours. The Bible says we are all sinners, none righteous, not even you. You are a sinner. The difference between me and you is I am saved by the blood of Jesus because I have accepted him as my Lord and I follow his teachings. I believe the Bible is the word of God. Passed down so we would be able to learn about our Saviour. To know how to serve him, The Bibles if we love Jesus we will keep his commandments. The ten commandments are still in effect today. I can handle your opposing view, bring it on. But I have to tell you, unless you are a believer you are not going to like what I have to say unless you say this Prayer and believe, Dear Jesus, I just ask you right now to come into my life and save me, I admit and confess that I am a sinner. I believe that you came and died on a cross for my sins, and that you rose from the grave as a perfect sacrifice to cover the sins of all mankind. I do believe you are the Son of God and I ask you to make me one of your children in the Kingdom of Heaven, and be my Lord and Saviour, in Jesus Name Amen, If you Prayed this Prayer with a sincere heart you are now saved, You should feel a burden being lifted off your heart and the days will seem brighter as Christ begins a work in you, find a church, and start reading your Bible, may God Bless YOU!!! If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Mercy and Grace have been applied!!!

As a sacred cow myself, I don't see any problems with asking questions but I do agree that some humans consider it "bashing" when you question the deeply held beliefs. No matter how stupid those beliefs may be.

I think that christians take offense more easily for two main reasons:
1. They know their arguments for their position is weak, at best.
2. They hold a deep personal belief that their faith is correct.
If either of those things are ever proven false, everything they build their self identity on comes crashing down. Which is why they will doggedly cling to the most outrageous claims with absolute certainty.
When backed into a corner, they tend to start blessing you and praying for your soul. If that fails, they retreat to "I'm going to heaven and you're going to hell. Nya, nya..." or "I pity you. I'll pray for you."

Insecure nah!
Let's talk about cow bashing.
The Hindus would probably object don't you think? Now I object to Hindus and I object to Brahmas. One fourth Brahma is plenty. With a Charlois, great meat hardy stock. so I won't bash cows only Brahmas. Would that make me seem more secure and less offended by your blasphemous tone and questions?

Does what you believe In,love you enough to die for you ? If you died to save all of humanity or just your family members...Would you be as even-toned as a Christian ? How tolerant would you be ? But then again we are warned against casting Pearls Before Swine Not Cows !

Bashing,I suppose depends on the content and context of the"question."People on either side of a question can stonewall the other or be too thin-skinned. Questions should be encouraged in any debate about religion and spirituality.
