When a smoothie recipe calls for a frozen banana, is the banana frozen WITHOUT the peel? I did not peel it and it was impossible to get the peel off. I just threw it in the blender peel and all. Should I remove the peel and put the banana in a ziplock bag before placing in the freezer? What do you guys do?

Peel first, then freeze. However, I have some brown bananas in the freezer right now that I will make banana bread with and it's OK to freeze them with the peel on as I will thaw them before I use them in the bread.

hahaha!

I made the same mistake once. Its impossible. Maybe you can use hot water to melt off the peel otherwise peel another banana and freeze it again.

I guess just unwrap it and put in on a plate or something. I just add a banana and some ice when a smoothie recipe calls for a frozen banana.

I usually peel them off before they ger overripened. I usually use Frozen Ziplock to prevent discolored or get darker. I use for my smoothies frequently. It is an easier job, though.

The ice from the blender will make it frozen. No need to freeze it first.
