In my dream, I was in some place sort of out in the country and realized that all the locks on my doors were broken. On one or two of the doors, someone else had broken the lock, not realizing that that's what it was: the lock. It's possible that I could have fixed the locks if I'd had the time, but I felt it was already too late: someone was going to break in and do something horrible or disastrous at any minute. I was both terrified and outraged. I wasn't afraid that someone was going to steal my *things*; I was more afraid that someone would steal something more intangible, as though I was harboring top-secret information that I wasn't supposed to let anyone get at. What's up with that?

Broken locks on doors represent not being able to keep certain things out of your life. At the same time, you live a life of insecurity. There are not guards in place in your life which in this case sounds like it is in your heart or mind.

It's a security issue. You have normal fears of people invading your space, violating your privacy, getting too close, not respecting your personal boundaries, id theft, learning about your personal life or secrets that you don't want to share and using it against you. We all have people in our lives like that and the threat of that is on the news and stuff all the time. Maybe you should evaluate your life and make sure you are enforcing your privacy, security and personal boundaries the best you can and have a plan for how to respond in case some one crosses those boundaries or finds out a secret about you.

A wise person once told me that what happens in a dream is not important. Rather how the dream made you feel is significant. The feelings are usually indicitave of repressed feelings about something going on in your life. So, however the dream affected you is most important. Hope that helps!

It could be something precious which you cannot guard. A person, a job, a material item.
