What does what a politician promises to get into office have to do with what they do after they get elected?
"I promise to build a fence so those Mexicans can't ruin your life".
"Well, I tried but the Supreme Court stopped the funding". Darn those old idiots.
No law enacted is going to go around the Mexican American peace agreement. Dream on.
Some people say I don't understand the law or the treaty. I say they don't understand the law or the preace agreement. TAKE A VERY CLOSE LOOK AT REALITY. How does the reality compare with your version of the Treaty of Hildago-Guadalupe?

Real laws that are enforced at the borders by officers.

BUT

Once people complain to the same Congress people who wrote these laws we are investigated by the Senators Office and told to let the person in we tried to kick out.

We have a Senator in this area who ran on her strong border enforcement record. She has NEVER been to the port in the over six years she has been in office. Her staffers tell us that she hates us because "we kick out all of those innocent people who are just trying to make a better life" Yet trot a camera in front of her and she will tell you how she is a friend to CBP. BS

They are laws that have silently been deemed 'unenforceable' due to years of complacency. The problem is so out of hand now that to pretend that enforcing the laws would end the problem is pure ignorance. All it will do is cost a lot of money to offset the problem slightly. In most cases, deportees just come back. I believe that if a 100% effort was made to establish a fair amnesty program (for everyone, not just illegals, this means they can't just mooch off our system), secure the border, apprehend and punish criminal illegals, and reform the legal immigration procedure, that the problem could be effectively fixed without costing more money than it's worth.

Real laws.....unenforced by the American public, law enforcement, court systems, and politicians.

As far as the peace treaty that is good. Who wants war.
As far as globalization perhaps when 50% ofAmerica is unemployed politicians will re-think NAFTA and other trade agreements.
