I would probably prefer an outdoor event where people could mingle... but since there is not much of those kinds of events around, I would probably pick the bar scene as long as I knew it was a single's night and there was a good possibility I could meet someone. However, I haven't done that scene YET (but I do plan to) because I want to make sure I look nice and have enough money for drinks. However, if I end up getting more drinks than dates, I'll stop it.

Well since I am married, a great night for me is to go out with friends, dance to some nice music, have a nice conversation, get a good buzz and end up home safely. Wake up the next day late with no hangover also helps.

great music that you can really dance too and a dance floor with room to move, not empty but not smashed in on the floor either.
thats the best. Oh and drink specials $3 bottomless cup.
