Shariah allows the wives of Muslim men to keep their religion of Christianity or Judaism and there is no compulsion for them to convert.
Islam can co-exist with other faiths in the HOME so co-existing with them outside the home is even easier.
The children are to be following the religion of the father and that is why Muslim women are not to marry non Muslim men.
Muslim means "one who has submitted themself to the Lord of Abraham" and it is irrespective of time or place.
Every Prophet and his followers were "Muslims".

I'm not Muslim, but I'll give it a shot.
A Muslim man could marry a Catholic woman, but a devout Muslim man would want his children to be raised as Muslim (just as the devout Catholic woman would want her children raised Catholic.)
There are different types of Muslims. Two of the largest groups are the Shia (who believe that the lineal descendants of Mohammed should be the leaders) and the Sunni (who believe that leadership should be vested in those with the most knowledge.)

A muslim is a person who follows the Islamic faith.
A muslim man can marry a non-muslim woman without either converting, but a muslim woman may not marry a non-muslim man unless he converts to Islam.
In both cases, the children would be raised muslim.
However, just as with other faiths there are many different versions of Islam ranging from extremely traditional to muslim-by-birth-only.
The major sects of Islam are Sunni and Shiite. Generally, Shiite is the more conservative while Sunni is the more liberal.

Hi,
Yes, a Muslim can marry a Catholic woman, and the religion of their kids should be Islam but it depends.
Actually, there are different types of Islam, but in my opinion, a real Muslim is just a Muslim.
Islam is not really strict, don't believe everything they say about Islam in television, and you can learn more here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam
Bt it's not an Islamic website though.

sure a muslim can marry a catholic but only in a secular ceremony like at city hall, vegas, etc.
i'm a firm believer that exposing a child to religion at a young age is a form of mental child abuse. let kids be kids and when they're more mature, let them make their own decisions about religion or even lack of religion.
there are different sects of islam. just look at iraq right now. sunni are fighting shiite right now.
how strict someone is in their beliefs is all on them. you have to blame the golfer not the golf clubs.

Those are not simple questions - I would suggest you take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muslim and then come back with more precise questions after you have done some reading on the matter.
Good Luck!!!
