I find that some people use their Christianity as almost a shield. A shield that will hide away all of their flaws so that the world sees them as perfect and so that they have the right to judge. I am Christian and have seen it over and over again in church, because they are living the Christian life, they feel that anyone who does not is wrong and should not be tolerated. Little do they know or care to know that God is a loving, caring, understanding and just God. He looks at people's hearts, and intentions. Too many times, Christians get on their high horse and forget that in God's eyes, we are all the same!

Fundamentalists tend to be fanatics, that is motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause. They care more about their cause than civility.
Caused by all of the above plus some more things.

Think of the personality traits required to hold the world views fundies do.
If you walked through the world at constant war with your 5 senses, your intellect, and reality while clinging to irrational beliefs in an unbending ancient book do you think you would be in constant balance?

All fundamentalists are ignorant and Spiritually wrong.
Fundamentalists do not have Free Will, because they believe in their religions beliefs. The blame is on each one of the religious believers. There's no excuse for believing in religious beliefs.

Blame it on their parents for not stopping it. It is probably down to anger and fear, like most rudeness.

Depends on your idea of thin ice, now doesn't it? If the ice is 2 feet thick, Yes, someone relentlessly yelling that you are on thin ice is rude.
If the ice is supporting every other skater on it, Yes, it's rude.
Don't presume to something you can't prove.
