The press has done a horrible job exploring the tribal culture in Iraq. Tribal Identity is an important factor and crosses religious lines in Iraq and explains in some instances why cooperation between Sunni and Shia are occuring. The Tribal uprising against Al Qaeda in The Anbar began when a Tribal Sheik refused to Marry his two daughters to Al Qaeda leaders and the Sheik was killed. In the Arab Culture Blood Feuds are as real as the Hatfields and McCoys Feud in West Virginia, only more deadly. Al Qaeda was also bad for business because their fundamentalist brand of Islam Al Qaeda practices runs contrary to tribal perrogatives. Since Al Qaeda is comprised of outsiders are Iraqi women indirectly responsible for our success?

Al Qaeda would rule by the gun and not some quaint forms of tribal tradition, see the way the Taliban got control of Afganistan.
Most Arab women are slaves anyway its a male dominated society.
So another fantasy solution goes out the window.

I didn't want to add a 'but' , but (LOL) the defeat of Al Qaeda will need much more than that . Not a bad start though .
Unfortunately I no longer believe that Al Qaeda can be defeated . . . ... . by 'man' . Let me clarify. . . . . There are ways that 'man' can defeat Al Qaeda , but those ways involve many years and a generation or two . And the problem with that is . . . . I don't believe we have the convenience of 'many years' or 'generations' . I believe they will successfully attain WMD's much sooner and might already have them .
We NEED GOD . God is the only 'ONE' who can solve this and save us . But even with that solution , we must be wary if someone were to come along and perform the 'miracles' that we need . Cause that's exactly what God said would happen when the Anti-Christ comes to power .. . . . . Sigh , boy are we in a fix or what !!!

Its good to see Iraqi rejection of that life in general. They look down on them for many reasons and thats great. If they want to a good life, with our help, theyre going to get it. The higher they aim the more they will achieve.

Good question! You could be right! Once the tribes learn their women will all become slaves of Al Qeada, they Will turn in a heartbeat!
