Most of the efforts are made towards adapting to a changing climate. Jordan has always had a problem with having enough water for its population's consumption and modest agricultural activities; this problem will only become worse with rising temperatures. They are making good progress towards a more efficient use of their water resources - anything they can do to become more self-reliant in handling their own problems will decrease the global burden in dealing with this problem.

well , i live in jordan,
what i can see about this,
the goverment is making a good step while we are a poor country and have no resources.
all gases for cars will be unleaded within few weeks.. the goverment was working hard for this as it is really costly

they are adding a filters for the petrolum refinery to clean the diesel fuel from the salfar and other things what costs more than 500 million dollars

a project to have a nuclear station to get energy which is a clean way
and some other projects are planned to be done with the few amount of available money

The best source of information regarding Jordan's policies on global warming and the environment is from the Al Jadid Research Center which you'll find here - http://www.ujrc-jordan.org/jordan_environment.shtm

IPEN has country specific environmental policy information, the Jordanian page is here - http://www.ipen.org/ipepweb1/library/ipep_pdf_reports/3jor%20jordan%20country%20situation%20report.pdf (it's a PDF file)
