It's not really possible to avoid global warming, this is something that has been ongoing now for 18,000 years, to which humans have contributed and accelerated warming over the last 200 years. There are things that we can all do to slow down the global warming and lessen the effects of climate change. Here are some suggestions...

AT HOME AND WORK
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
● When replacing appliances buy energy efficient ones.

● Turn off electrical appliances when not in use, don’t use standby.

● Use energy efficient light bulbs and switch off when not in use.

● Turn down water heating by a few degrees.

● Fit individual thermostats to radiators, don't heat empty rooms.

● Insulate walls, lofts, hot water tanks and pipes.

● Turn heating and air conditioning down by a couple of degrees.

● Sign up to a green energy supplier.

● Turn off heating and air-conditioning when the house or office is unoccupied.

● Wash full loads of clothes

● Wash at lower temperatures.

● Dry clothes outdoors instead of in a tumble drier.

● Wash full loads in the dish-washer.

● Insulate your home and block draughts around doors and windows. In Europe this is free to many people.

● Consider solar panels or a home wind turbine.

● Use rechargeable batteries

● Don’t leave (re)chargers on for longer than is needed.

● Boil only as much water in the kettle as you need.

● Buy locally produced organic food where possible, there's less transportation and the farming methods are more environmentally friendly.

● Look where goods were manufactured, avoid buying those that have been shipped long distances.

● Recycle and reuse as much as possible. Sign up with mail preferential services to stop junk mail.

● Avoid products with excessive packaging.

● Don’t have your fridge or freezer set lower than need to be.

● Regularly defrost freezers

● Don’t put hot food into your fridge or freezer.

● If your fridge or freezer is over 15 years old then consider replacing it (check with local authority regarding disposal of old one).

● Work from home if possible.

● Eat less meat and dairy produce, farming produces large quantities of greenhouse gases.

● Shower instead of bath.

● If you bath, don’t fill it so much.

● Put a jumper on instead of the heating.

● Recycle and reuse where possible.

ENERGY EFFICIENT TRAVELLING
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
For many people a substantial reduction in greenhouse gas emissions can be achieved by driving a more fuel-efficient vehicle. Each gallon of gasoline burned produces 10kg (20 pounds) of carbon dioxide.

● Drive a fuel efficient vehicle, if you have more than one vehicle use the most economical one more often.

● Walk or cycle to work or when taking the kids to schools, if you have to drive consider car sharing.

● Use public transport where possible

● Take a coach or train instead of using domestic flights.

● When replacing your vehicle look at diesel and liquid petroleum gas models.

● Combine multiple journeys into one and do your weekly shopping in a single trip.

● Stagger journeys where possible to avoid rush hour traffic and hold ups.

FUEL SAVING TIPS FOR DRIVERS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
By driving carefully and keeping your vehicle in good condition you can save up to 30% on your fuel bills and cut greenhouse gas emissions at the same time. Below are some tips for increasing fuel efficiency, there's more information on the Eartheasy Website - http://eartheasy.com/live_fuel_efficient_driving.htm

● Avoid harsh braking, accelerate gently, drive at a steady speed.

● Keep tyres properly inflated.

● Remove bike and ski and roof racks when not in use.

● Carrying unnecessary weight wastes fuel, declutter your vehicle.

● Use the correct gear, use cruise control if your vehicle has it.

● Keep your vehicle regularly serviced.

● Turn the engine off when stopped or waiting.

CARBON OFFSETTING
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Carbon Offsetting is one way to reduce or eliminate your carbon footprint, in most cases this involves calculating your greenhouse gas emissions and planting trees so as to absorb an equivalent amount of carbon dioxide. Some websites where you can calculate your carbon footprint and purchase offsetting are...

*lmaorotf* Kill yourself? You can't just "avoid" global warming. The word 'global' means that it happens to the whole Earth. You can't stop it, either. Did you know that volcanoes put out more CO2 every year than cars do? They're breaking down the ozone just as much as we are. The world is going to get warmer and colder in phases, and that's how it is. And as long as there are people, there will be war. That's how life goes.

Go back in history look it up
stop fires that's a joke with out fires there be no trees
prepare for darkness to cover the earth then we will freeze
the volcanoes are all about to blow they cant keep taking every thin out of the ground & weaking the earth structure dont worry about the glo--b warming worry about the next ice age build under ground.

How to avoid global warming:
Don't waste water
Don't waste electricity
Don't waste natural gas/heating oil/whatever
Don't waste gasoline. Don't drive anywhere not necessary (I mean, unnecessary trips around town; people do need a vacation!) That also means don't drive ATV's, golf carts, snowmobiles, etc., down the highway or around town or even around the neighborhood.
Use a push mower instead of a lawn tractor (I use one and I have 4 acres!).
Keep showers/baths to a minimum amount of water.
Eat basic foods, not those fancy ones.
Don't eat out...
Turn off the lights. Use compact flourescent lights; better yet, LEDs.
You get the idea...get 300,000,000 other people to do the same.

As to avoiding war, don't provoke others; don't disagree just to disagree. With a genuine disagreement, try to work things out. Write your politicians, mayors, governors, Congress, the President and urge them to do the same.

It is not going to be any one magical thing. It will be a lot of small things working together.

I know a couple of areas I would like to see. I used to work in fast food and I saw them throw away tons of food every single night. I have talked to others who worked fast food and it seems to be the same in a lot of them.

Back track that food and look at all of the wasted energy.
It took energy to cook it.
It took energy to keep it cool in the fridge.
It took energy to deliver it to the store.
It took energy to store it and keep it coll at the processing center.
It took energy to process it.
It took energy to gather the ingredients.
It took energy to raise the ingredients.

Every step, energy is being used. If energy is being used, then there is addition to greenhouse gases. Also, when the wasted food rots, it will turn into methane and other gases that are not any good either. Plus, all of this is a big waste. Multiply this by the hundreds of thousands of fast food places and restaraunts in the US alone. There are millions of tons of wasted food in this country. Maybe even more than that. Imagine all of the energy wasted on this food.

Next up, look at the postal service and junk mail. It is not too bad with me, but I know some people who have their mail box filled with junk mail every day. This stuff is just trashed. Once again, back track and look at the wasted energy.

Energy to deliver it.
Energy to sort it at the post office.
Energy to deliver it to the post office.
Energy to print it.
Energy to create the paper for it.
Energy to cut down the trees to make the paper.

You will see that a lot of energy is being spent that has very little contribution to society. All of that energy will result in a significant amount of burnt fuels that add gases to the environment.

What can we do to eliminate this waste? I am not sure about the fast food places. Maybe some laws or special taxes need to go in place to stop the wasted food. The post office is an easy one though. Eliminate bulk postage rates. That will greatly reduce the amount of junk mail.

The first step to aviod global warming is to save energy, get some energy efficient bulbs and use them. Another thing is to get all the self centered littering people you know to care about the environment.
It's up to the countries to avoid war, the presidents or whoever's in charge. 'cause war is caused by people and countries uncooperating fithe each other.

Ban the use of coal as an energy source to avoid Global Warming.

Since there are millions of people in the world who want to attack you and rob you of what you have it is not possible to avoid war.
