Because “god” is nothing more than a nonsense word created by man to explain away all of the things we can’t yet understand.

God HAS shown Himself, revealed Himself-There are miracles all over the place. A miracle doesn't have to be 'turning a frog into a building " you know.
God created life -not religion.
Adam and Eve were people in a poem -written in an attempt to explain God to a people of long ago history.
It was chosen to me included in the Bible by a group of men a very long time ago.
They had free will-that's why they were able to go against what God had ask them not to do.
Keep asking questions . It is OK to ask and to seek .
Try looking for God within yourself.
Baaaaa Baaaa yes Spade I am one of His sheep and yes I need this 'crutch' as you put it (I call it a tool ) I gave you a thumbs up !

Well there are plenty of clever, smart-aleck answers here from little geeks who want to seem cool by making fun of faith and spirituality.
(Hint: typing profanities here doesn't make you cool, it makes you seem like a friendless jerk.)
Here is the bottom line on God; you cannot explain God in human terms or under human conditions. He is the creator of all things physical, spiritual and ethereal. As the Creator, He makes things go according to His plan, which is infinitely wiser than yours or mine. A better question might be, why should he show up? Look at all the foul mouthed mockers that show up every time someone posts a question about God. Having faith is a perilous condtion these days. It is said there will be a great apostasy (falling away from God) in the last days, and it sures seems like that is here and now. If you are seriously searching for God, which I would hope you are, read the Bible and pray. If you are earnest, God will evidence himself to you.

People will refuse to believe or even accept God even if He does prove He exist.
The second law of thermodynamics states that the amount of energy in a system that is available to do work is decreasing. Entropy increases as available energy decreases. In other words, the purely natural tendency of things is to move toward chaos, not order, and available energy necessary for work is lost (mostly as heat) in this process. Eventually, the universe will run down and all life and motion will cease. This is the natural tendency of all things. Batteries run down, machines break, buildings crumble, roads decay, living things die, etc. Left to the natural state, all things would eventually cease to function.
The universe is not infinitely old because it has not "run down."
If the universe were infinitely old, it would have reached a state where all usable energy is gone.
But, we are not in this state; therefore, the universe is not infinitely old and must have had a beginning.
Because the universe has had a beginning it is not infinite in size.
It would require an infinite amount of time to become infinite in size. Since the universe had a beginning, it has not had an infinite amount of time to expand; therefore, it is finite in size.
All events have causes.
There cannot be an infinite regress of events because that would mean the universe were infinitely old.
We've already established the universe cannot be infinitely old.
If it were infinitely old, the universe would be in a state unusable energy, which it is not.
If it were infinitely old, the universe would be infinitely large, which it is not.
Since the universe is finite and had a beginning and there cannot be an infinite number of regressions of causes to bring it into existence, there must be a single uncaused cause of the universe.
A single uncaused cause of the universe must be greater in size and duration than the universe it has brought into existence.
Otherwise, we have the uncaused cause bringing into existence something greater than or equal to itself.
Any cause that is natural to the universe is part of the universe.
An event that is part of the universe cannot cause itself to exit.
Therefore, there must be an uncaused cause outside the universe.
An uncaused cause cannot be a natural part of the universe which is finite.
An uncaused cause would be infinite in both space and time since it is greater than which it has caused to exist.
An uncaused cause would be separate from the universe.
Being separate from the universe, which was caused to be, it would not be subject to the laws of the universe since it existed independent of the universe and its laws.
This would mean that entropy need not be required of the uncaused cause.
This uncaused cause is supernatural.
By supernatural is meant completely 'other' than the universe and is not the product of it.
This uncaused cause must be incredibly powerful to bring the universe into existence.
The Bible teaches that God is uncaused, is not part of the universe, created the universe, and is incredibly powerful.
God's existence (in Christianity) is not an event, but a state.
Psalm 90:2 says that God is God without a beginning.
This means that God is uncaused.
Therefore, the God of the Bible is the uncaused cause of the universe.

Well god has never left you, he resides within you as you, he`s in every breath you take and comes in many shapes and forms not to mention sizes. As far as religion goes there are no right or wrong religions. This arises when mere mortals get a taste of power and turn their back on themselves. It`s all down to what makes you feel right ,honestly feel right inside. That which gives you essence to be alive and see the good way. Too many folk won`t delve deep enough in to the history of spirituality and become dispondant only tom bl;ame religion, William Blake, W.B. Yeats amoung others were very spiritual people try checking them out. It`s similar to the word occult..........did you think about devil worshiping? many do but the word means, hidden meaning and nothing more
meditate on your self,
worship yourself,
adore yourself,
God dwells within you
as you anon

Why is it that God can give you life and you are to lazy to give him back a little faith? God is everywhere everything you see is what he created and you want him to hand heaven to you as well. He only asks for faith and it is free, and to prove he is real he gave his only son and asks nothing more than faith from us. Open your eyes he is everywhere and right there with you now as you mock him. But, he forgives you and asks nothing more than faith. The fact that anything exists proves that there is a greater power, who are we to say that god is even physically visible we already know that we don't understand so much. Just have faith he is with us all we are just stuck with only beleiving in what we see. God Bless

If I'm not mistaken....the story of Adam & Eve indicates that they were "tested"....and failed. Thanks to their free will.
I, personally, do not believe in any supreme being, but think Jesus was a great man.
If you so desparately want God to reveal himself, you're asking Him to justify his existence to you.....and that kinda goes against the definition of "faith", now doesn't it.
You already know why I think he doesn't show himself, but, just to play devil's advocate (lol, couldn't resist), if there's truly going to be an Apocalypse, it will be at THAT time that he reveals himself....and ultimately lash out from his disappointment in the human race.
Be kind, and do ounto others as you'd have them do unto you.
He's really not asking much, if you think about it......but, we suck.

In the past, when Jesus was on earth, he performed many miracles, raised the dead, healed all kinds of sicknesses, from leprosy to blindness. Many believed, but he still got murdered because in spite of that many refused to believe.
It has more to do with the person's heart than any miracles. If a person wants to do their own thing and don't want to do the things God approves of, nothing will convince them. But if they're searching for God, he will let himself be found by them. Keep searching, if you're sincere, you will find the truth about God.

And if Adam and Eve didn't have free will then this whole thing about inherent sin is bogus right?
Oh the scandal!
Seriously though, you'd think that as a god he'd be able to do these kind of things. I mean Greek gods did it all the time, Judeo-Christian gods think it's too cliché or something?
To anyone who says that he'd just be ignored as a lunatic:
If he was 20 feet tall it'd be pretty hard to ignore him now wouldn't it?

A person has to have spiritually enhanced eyes to see God.
1 Cor 2:14-16
4 The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:
16 "For who has known the mind of the Lord
that he may instruct him?"
But we have the mind of Christ.
(from New International Version)
AND AFTER YOU HAVE USED YOUR FREE WILL TO IGNORE HIM, EVENTUALLY GOD HELPS YOU IN YOUR BLINDNESS TO SEE HIM.
Rom 11:8-9
s it is written:
"God gave them a spirit of stupor,
eyes so that they could not see
and ears so that they could not hear,
to this very day."
(from New International Version)

Adam and Eve had a free will and they made a choice and the decision they made cause sin to enter the world and we are still plaqued by it.
God doesn't reveal himself to those who don't know him - he says his sheep know his voice and we carry him in our hearts and we see him not just in the complex eye or a beautiful baby, we see him in his creation.
God is in heaven, he is watching and holding us all accountable for our actions, words, deeds and thoughts and he still loves you and is waiting for you to believe that he is....
Whether or not you believe or you want to be like the people in the bible asking for proof - Doubting Thomas, if he gave you one would you receive it?
