Theres a girl right near me who eats all the time - she has 3 sets of sandwiches a day and snacks in between. And she always goes for the loudest, crunchiest ting she can find - french toasts, weatabix (i know - how odd) and procedes to eat them with her mouth open so you can hear it all. Shes not fat though - i think shes got worms.
To make it even worse - she hardly speaks any english and doesnt even try to communicate - like shes too good to talk to us. She mutters in a really low voice and trails off mid sentence and walks away when you actually asked her something you need to know the answer too.
She is driving me crazy - aaarrrggghhh !!!

Oh yes, my Manager drives me maaaaad.
First of all she's French and can't really speak any English which is totally stupid, and she harasses customers who can't even understand her!

She forgets EVERYTHING all the time, for example today we got a call asking why a French lady keeps ringing her house thinking it's another branch or where i work....I mean didn't she learn the first like 15 times she rang this poor woman!!!

Also she is completely hypocritical. A few days ago she told off three members of staff for doing something which she later did herself but it wasn;t so wrong then was it??

AND to add to it all she must do EVERYTHING herself, and once she forgot to lock up and blamed me, even though she has never let anyone but herself or duty managers lock up?

Glad I got that off my chest :)

Okay, I don't think this person is intentionally bieng annoying; she probably doesn't realize that she is irritating you. You can't really tell her to stop eating or telling her what to eat, especially if you don't want to start a work fued, but maybe you can make a casual joke about it and see what she says. Like, geez I wish I could eat that much and not gain a pound! Maybe she really does have a condition. See what she says. Just by brining it up, it may make her aware that others can hear her, and she might make a deciion to be more quiet. If ths doesn't work, bring it up with your/her supervisor. Don't name names, but just say that there are some workers who eat at their desk quite loudly and are distracting others from working (do other ppl feel the same way about her?). Maybe the supervisor will send out an e-mail asking employees to maybe be more cautious of what they are eating and how loud they are bieng.

As for the muttering, it may be because she is uncomfortable with English. This is directly work-related so you need to speak up. Stop her and say "I did'nt quite catch that, can you explain again?" Keep doing this until you get the answer you need. Again, if this becomes a problem, bring it up with the supervisor. It's part of her job to answer your questions if you need answers, so she should be doing it properly.

Dear aaarrrggghhh !!!

I can't drive you crazy, really and neither can she. I have people I work with that have annoying habits and I have annoying habits also. I work with a woman who walks around striking poses like she's a magazine model. 3 other guys are terminal "know it alls" But, we are always polite.

Could this coworker may be a very shy person? Reticence can be percieved as "stuck-up".

About crunching the loud food she needs to be more aware of herself.

One sure thing is a warm expression on your face and a smile never harmed anyone. Give it a try.

You know, I think it's just the nature of the workplace for that to happen. I've been working for a long time, and, by now, I've pretty much seen and heard almost everything. I used to work with a woman who washed her armpits at her desk - literally. She used a washcloth and soap, just like if she was at home. LOL! And this was at a worldwide, fortune 500 company. It was just a huge, open floorplan, so everyone could see what she was doing.

I also worked across from a man (same fortune 500 company) who would both regularly burp and fart really loudly - and never said as much as an 'excuse me'. He also seemed to have to 'adjust' his crotch a lot.

Right now, things are pretty calm at my workplace. There is just one woman who gets on my nerves, but, thankfully, she's in another department. Very conceited, shallow and materialistic. And she is constantly replying to everything someone says to her by saying "...yaaaah." Lord, I hope I never have to work within earshot of her. It guess it beats farting and armpit washing though.

I think you're always gonna come along people like that. If she really bugs you that much, think one day, either she will leave, or you will, and that will be the last you'll ever see of her. There's always that one person that really gets to you and then when you never have to see them again, you realize, yes they were pretty terrible and annoying, but there's worse possible things.

I don't work, I'm in school, but yes there's people like that and I just wanna scream. The dumbest thing is, half of them are the biggest idiots. They'll say "I hate you" to your face, and then annoy you. Well if they hate you so much, wouldn't they want to be as far away from you as possible? And the kind of person that you mentioned acts like she's better than everyone, when she's probably dying to be friends with all of you. Ha ha.

When I was working, there was a girl that DROVE ME CRAZY!!! She would always get right in your face when she had something to tell you. I mean she was, as Jerry Seinfeld puts it, a "close talker!" She was just too odd! She would come up with the strangest things to say that would just be completely out of the blue and made no sense anyway! I think she was just attention starved and was looking for friends. I felt guilty about not liking her, which made me not like her even more!

We have a woman at work who seems to think she can go off and have a food break whenever she feels like it. While we are all working our ar**es off she's stood in a corner with a sandwich sayin she's "starving" all the time and doing absolutely no work. Worst of it is our boss worships her so she never ever gets told about all her skiving. We call her the chocolate teapot as she's as much use as one. We've even called meetings about her but she just cries and the boss pities her! Makes ya want to SCREAM!!!!!

Ooooh, that sucks.

I have a couple of co-workers who get on my nerves, actually. One of them is just rude to me in general. 'Nuff said there.
The other one is constantly asking if I can do stuff for her. I really just want to scream "I DON'T THINK GO-FER GIRL IS ANYWHERE ON MY JOB DESCRIPTION!". Like today for example. She "didn't realize it" when she left home for work this morning, but her white capri pants are a little see-through. Because of this, she doesn't want to get up to do anything so she keeps calling me to bring her stuff. She actually called me a minute ago to ask me if I could bring her something off of a printer that is 50 feet away from me and five feet away from her because of her pants. Ummmm, when did the fact that she doesn't have a mirror become MY PROBLEM?!?
