You know those "key cards" that people use in motels/hotels.

I have seen locks that work off of thumbprints, installed on houses before. On the Discovery show "It Takes a Thief", they sometimes use those on homes where there are lots of people who have a habit of losing their keys.

Of course, on "Mythbusters", they showed that it is possible to defeat one of those locks if you are able to get that person's thumbprint.

Yes, i know of several companies that have this service. The also have the one with the punch code instead of a key.

Just google residential access keys..or similar phrase.
