Of the two choices given: GOD wants free thinking independent people, not robots or puppets, to be with for eternity.

Well, certainly not a soul that recites a script. But, what is you conception of God? Would you be going before a male figure? A female figure? A big fish? A cartoon? When you talk about God do you say He's a he? A she? What human qualities do you attribute to this force? Do dolphins think of God as the great Dolphin?..It might be better not to place a human skin or mind on something so vast and to just experience it without qualifying it.

God has not created any two personalities that are exactly alike. This uniqueness is for His pleasure like a beautiful bouquet of flowers. We all think independently at some point, It's the child in us that God cuddles. After all He is already omniscient what can we surprise Him with?

I dont think free will and independent thought would be possible at all if it wasnt God's will in the 1st place.....

reciting the bible may show a studious effort, but that alone isnt what the "BIG GUY" is looking for (IMHO)

Well, to use the Bible makes this answer a bit circular, but...

If God created the animals and man, but only man is said to be in His image, then logically, what differentiates us from animals must be our godlike qualities--i.e., our ability to think and feel.

Personally, I think we should study to learn all that we can about God, but use our reason in evaluating all of it. The best conversations about religion are always had with people who are well-informed but open-minded, who know what they believe, but can listen to and appreciate other viewpoints.

I think that's the type of person God would want to be around, too.

I don't think God would be inclined to care either way. He wants to spend eternity with each and everyone of us.

God is not confined to our human ideas or limits.

YES! That's why HE created us as individuals with free-will.
Reciting the Bible will not score any points.
It's doing the will of the Father which matters.
That means treating others the way we want to be treated.
Even respecting our differences is important.

there is a god, and he made everybody to think independently, free will, the right to choose for ones self what they want to believe. and just because someone chooses to believe in god, doesn't mean that they aren't thinkers, they thought through all of their options, contemplated all scenarios, and then made a thorough and thoughful decision. why is it that if you choose to believe in something ,then you can't think for yourself, and only those who choose to not believe are considered the thinkers. that makes absolutly no sense, everyone makes decisions in which they believe is the best thing for their lives, and that takes a lot of thought.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive.....

I think, I read, I quote scripture, I consider viewpoints, I pray, I go to church, I love God, I write, I talk, I breathe, I watch the news, I study the bible.....

and I am His child!

god bless
