I'm a 42 yr. old female. I am currently experiencing moderate butt pains. Some burning. I have had no changes in diet, no changes in bathroom (constipation or diarrhea), no blood in my stool. The discomfort is somewhat persistant although it doesn't interfere at all with sleeping.

I have used Prep H with not a lot of relief. I have taken Aleve but that doesn't seem to work either.

I have no troubles at using the restoom. I have increased my intake of fiber so, of course, I have extra gas.

I thought if it was hemorroids, that Prep H or Aleve would help.

Please, serious answers only. I really want to know.

Pain in the butt on its own is not likely to be caused by colorectal cancer. With no change in bowel habit (ie recently more constipated or loose stools) and weight loss, it again makes malignancy less likely. Having said that, colorectal cancer like all cancers, can present in an unusual way. If you have serious concerns, then you really have to see a doctor. The doctor may just be able to reassure you, or he may order some tests to try to determine the cause of your pain. Overall though, it looks unlikely to be a cancer based on what you have said.

Keep in mind that as a rule, cancer is painless, unless it is advanced. So I doubt it is colo-rectal cancer. 42 is young, anyway. Could be internal hemmorhoids, for which a doctor can Rx. a hydrocortisone suppository. If you are concerned, see a doctor, they will examine you and get samples to see if there is microscopic blood, and evaluate it from there. Also could be an Anal fissure, which may take longer to heal.Good Luck!

Firstly, I am sure you know that you have to see a doctor. However, to answer your question, colorectal carcinoma rarely presents with constant pain. Seeing your situation, I would say its most likely to be fissure, especially if pain increases with defecation. But it could also be something in your genitals especially ovaries or uterus. So you never know. I would advise that you see a doctor.

This does not sound like typical symptoms of colorectal cancer.

It does warrant investigation.

See your Dr.
