If you want something that doesn't come out of a box: 8 oz shredded cheddar or American cheese, 1 stick margerine or butter, flour, milk, salt and pepper.
Cook macaroni in water with a few drops of oil to keep from sticking. Let sit.
Melt butter. Mix in flour until thick. Add milk until soupy, heat, stirring constantly. Add cheese, stir until melted. Salt and pepper to taste. Add drained macaroni to cheese mixture.

When I was 10 I was in a play that required me to take the macaroni dip it in butter, then dip it in cheese, eat it, and take a drink of milk. It's a pretty easy way to EAT mac & cheese. To this day I still like it as a quick snack -- you can control the amount of cheese better than mixing it all together. I happen to like very cheesy macaroni.

The easiest and fastest way i know to cook Mac and Cheese is to cook macaroni in boiling salted water......drain and while still hot add a few slices of plain ole sliced cheese to taste. Add a bit of hot milk and butter to thin a bit.
