Hundreds of U.S. soldiers are immigrants that go to war for you, they are looking for their citizenship and many of them don't come back. Most of them are used as bait, and go to the front lines. Then Why do so many people hate them, because they are black, Mexican, Cuban, Puerto Rican?
They are defending you and they come from other parts of the world to fight your wars...
I don't get it.

of course i know what I am saying. My cousin went to the U.S. because the government promised him his green card after three years of service. He was sent to the front lines in Iraq and shipped back home in a body bag 3 months later. Wow that was a fast American Dream.

Yous see what I mean, everybody jumps up to their seats defending a stupid war, Iraq did not ask you to go and invade them, just like Panama did not either, or Vietnam. All of these countries did not ask for U.S. to invade them and try to control everything tha happens outside U.S.A.
Good Luck people. I hope you try to understand that illegal immigration is a deeper problem than what everybody thinks.

What makes you think anyone hates soldiers who happen to be immigrants (even if they do make up such a tiny fraction of the forces in Iraq as you imply - hundreds, out of over a hundred thousand - thier service and sacrifice is still apreciated, just as is that of native-born soldiers.)

There are no front lines in Iraq - it's an insurgency, every soldier who sets foot outside the 'green zone' is, in effect, 'bait.' For that matter, every foreigner in Iraq (and no small number of Iraqis) is a potential target. I don't know what makes you think immigrants are only black, Mexican, or Cuban - there are also white and asian immigrant, you know. But, then, you seem to think that Puerto Ricans - American Nationals - are immigrants, as well.

There's clearly a lot you don't get. I think you may just be understandibly distraught about the sacrifice your relative made. Don't you think that the last thing someone who was willing to give thier life for thier adopted country would want, would be for his family to start hating that country?

Unfortunately you really don't have any idea what you are talking about. In reality Americans do not hate immigrants. In fact if you were to ask I would bet 95% of people you talk to would say the same thing. We are not against immigration, we are against ILLEGAL immigration. If someone wants to come into the country LEGALLY, pay their taxes, LEARN ENGLISH, and become a productive member of society and make a better life for themselves then I say welcome with open arms. However, if you want to break the law by coming here ILLEGALLY, not pay taxes, and expect the government to give you social services, housing, medical care, education for your children, and oh by the way we want you to do all this in our native tounge because we have no intention of learning English, then I say you deserve to be deported back whereever you came from. This is not a race issue, it is an issue of law and of what is right. My question is this, why do those who have come into the country illegally think that they are better than someone who is trying to come here through the proper channels? Is their happiness and security more important than someone who is going about it the right way? They put themselves at the head of the line and think that is fair to the hundres of thousands of others that are doing it right.

So, Question...what do they put on their dog tags when they don't have social security numbers? That's the whole purpose of the dog tag is Identification. "Juan Valdez - Mexican" just isn't going to cut it on a dog tag. And...

I can't IMAGINE the military giving an M16 weapon to an ILLEGAL immigrant and saying "Here ya go little buddy, lock and load"

And.... the military doesn't use ANYONE as bait. There are certain things that higher ranked people don't do and things that lower ranked people are supposed to do. No matter WHAT those orders are....they are ALL in danger and they are getting killed no matter what their rank is.

However, I don't think it's TOO bad of an idea for illegals to see what it's like to FIGHT for their freedom instead of STEALING it.

A veteran.

Apparently you don't know what you are talking about at all.

http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2003/iraq/forces/casualties/

Take a good look.

There have been soldiers of every nationality, from many nations, and of the 3,733 Americans who have died in Iraq, almost ALL of them are U.S. citizens, white, black, hispanic, asian, native American indian, and middle eastern.

Were they used as "bait" too?

What you just don't seem to get, because your country has no history of going out and putting your citizens lives on the line in war, to fight for the rights and freedoms of your nation, or any other, is that in war there are casualties. Americans understand this, because the rest of the world always comes to America for help when the last resort is war.
If your cousin wanted to be an American, he chose one way to do it, in order to jump up the line legally, and we admire him for that. What you need to understand is that he was not singled out, he was not used, we appreciate his service, and if you want to be an American citizen you need to understand our history, our honor, our way of life, and our place in the world, as a nation which sacrifices our citizens for the freedom of other people, in other countries, time after time after time.

You are not being persecuted.

Edit: you don't have the decency to admit that you were wrong.
Americans did not kill your cousin, terrorists did. Do you think the terrorists love you? Did they love your cousin? They killed him.
Stop blaming the USA for your cousins death.
He was, no doubt, proud to wear the uniform he died in.
He would be ashamed of you if he knew what you are saying right now.

No silly goose,

We dont hate anyone. We only want illegal immigrants deported. They have broken our laws and have no right to be here. The key word is..... ILLEGAL..... WHy is that hard to understand. We have no problem with anyone here legally. Legally also means with a GREEN CARD in case you didn't understand that....

Last I heard illegal immigrants were not allowed in the armed forces.

This isn't a racial issue, but a legality issue.

We don't hate them. We don't like lawbreakers, PERIOD! Joining the service in order to get a green card is just as dishonest as crossing the border illegally. How could anyone trust a person whose true loyalties are in question? Personally, knowing how many of our soldiers have been killed by friendly fire, I would not want to turn my back on someone who is not a citizen and who is a mercenary, pure and simple -- joined to get money and a green card. If people want to be trusted and prove they are citizen material or legal immigrant material, then they should speak no other language than English when they are in public places or on airplanes (and that's because of the incident this past week where Iraqis were speaking Arabic on an airplane), boats and trains. Otherwise, all you do is cause people to listen to every word you say and hold you accountable for all the little things that might otherwise be ignored. No one can make another hate or love. If people behaved in a manner in which they would provoke trust, then they would be trusted. It's that simple.

I do not defend the war, I demand it be stopped immediately and every one of our soldiers brought home.

On the other hand you are lying about illegals in the service. There are none unless they forged or stole paperwork to sneak in for the free meals.

What are you talking about? We are not using immigrants as bait. What a horrible thing to say. They are all treated like soldiers. How can you say this? Are you out there fighting for the US and saw this first hand?

I LOVE our immigrants. Pretty much everyone DOES.

Let me be perfectly clear. We LOATHE ILLEGAL ALIENS. They aren't the same as immigrants and it's insulting to those same immigrants to try to paint them as the same.

ILLEGAL ALIENS can not serve in the military. They don't serve this country. They just drain society and resources AND break our laws. That's why we hate them.

Your cousin was a LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENT who served this country and deserves honor and respect. Don't disrespect him by trying to use his memory to push an illegal alien agenda. He's a soldier who, sadly, died in battle. Blame the enemy.
