They are not... they should and do complement each other. Science is discovering what God has set in motion... there is no conflict except in the human mind.

Many people say that spirituality is a very personal thing that you have to feel to believe. However, in science, you feelings don't count for everything. Science is about gathering verifiable and observable evidence for your claims so that others can reach the same conclusions. Spirituality and science seem like fundamental opposites.

Because it's nearly impossible for the human brain to comprehend that the two can co-exist together.
Atheists don't like the answer that we have our scientific knowledge because God gave us the gifts and abilities to use our own brains to try and figure stuff out.
The only reason we are so curious is because we're all searching for THE ANSWER to why we're here. I think science doesn't fully provide that answer. But the marriage of science and spirituality does.

The 'opposite' aspect is required to understand thoroughly the value of everything in this world.In order to know the value of 'goodness','bad' aspect is required.In order to know the value of 'truth','false' aspect is essential.Likewise in order to know the value of 'spirituality' ,'science' is must .Each opposite aspects are well understood on account of this 'opposite' quality without which each is difficult to understand!!!

Have you read the book Angels and Demons by Dan Brown? It's a very nice book.... It's about these two subject.

Spirityally is full of emotions and has some value for them whereas as science is dry and doesn't recognise emotions.

They are opposite only to the blind and ignorant only.they are not opposite and but one and the same for the wise.and endowed with a good vision.
