ON AVERAGE, human hair grows less than an inch a month.
On some, it can grow several inches in a month, on others, it can take several months to grow an inch.

Hair cuts do NOT accellerate hair growth. However, it *does* help the hair look better.

I would advise that even if you want long hair, go for trims and cuts to shape it around the face. If you are Aboriginal, or Sikh, and people demand you cut your hair, you can always pull-out the religeous persecution card... ;)

Seriously...care for the hair, and have the odd trim as it grows will help it look better, and it will look better on you.

I'm a guy and I've had very long hair in the past. Regular trimming of the split ends is a must. It helps your hair grow faster and look better. Some people suggest the use of prenatal vitamins to help with hair growth.

Yeah, you have to get trims. Unless you're going for that "dirty hippie" look. Bo Bice has long hair, but you can tell he takes care of it.

You're looking at about 12 inches to your goal, which is 2 years away. Hair grows at a max of 1/2 an inch per month.

yes To keep it looking healthy maybe just get the ends trimmed every once and a while dosent have to be inches and you still keep the length other wise you might end up with a lot of split ends personally i like guys with long hair

Yes in a way because you will get a lot of split ends and it will just keep splitting, you need to at least get a trim every six months for your hair to be healthy and split free.

Let me be the only one on Y!A to tell you the truth-- Long hair on a guy is NOT attractive... you are going to look grungy, not very clean cut, and simply like a "Wooly-Booger"!!!!!

Not cutting your hair is not bad.. when your hair is finally long, it's not going to look healthy unless you atleast trim it regularly, cutting the split ends. =) hope this helps!

yes.
if you want your hair to get long, then it's good to get trims because that'll make your hair grow faster.
if you don't get a trim for a while, you'll get really bad split ends and your hair wont grow as fast.

It's not bad, but it may look uneven and 'rats tail-y'.
