and we get on really well, we're meetin up again tommorrow and im hoping we may get together officially.He is going on holiday for 3 weeks next week so tomorrow is going to be the last time i see him for a while which is fine but he says hes going to miss me a lot and he'll be thinking of me. The trouble is, his birthday is the day before he goes away, what should i do? is it too soon to get him a present or is just sending him a card too little? what do you think?

I would go with the card , only three dates i not enough time to consider this a relationship. Besides if you make a big deal of his birthday he may think you're way too in to him and panic.

Maybe get him a card and suggest going to the cinema or for a drink or something. Thats enough.

considering that you guys like each other but you don't want to go overboard, do something small but significant.
ideas (could be more than one):
-get a card and write him a note
-make him his favorite type of cookies, if you don't know, make him brownies or a simple sugar cookie
-buy two tickets to a sports game/attraction for when he gets back (secures a fourth date!)

A card is fine...And since you are on your third date, make it a bit more Special...lfor example, if the first two dates were coffee dates, make the third a dinner date

You can make him a cake and give him a card. A small gift would be nice but not necessary. I bet he would like that : )

Get a card and if you go out get him a special drink.I wouldn't
commit yourself to much if he is going away.Better to wait until he comes back.
