Scratching IN the buttocks is a good sign of pin worms and/ or uncleanliness. The problem is simple to fix with Medicine from a doctor.
Children are constantly putting their hands in their mouth and scratching. The scratching picks up eggs deposited on the outside of the rectum from the parasites, then they are deposited onto other objects in the home thus spreading them to other members of the family.
The itching from pin worms is usually worse at night . There are other types of parasites too and all are treatable .
Everyone will need to be a lot more careful about washing their hands and not putting fingers into mouths .

Hi, Without sounding too yucky, it might be worms, which can cause itchiness around that area!! It's nothing to worry about, my son has had it a few times. If your friend is worried, then she can take her daughter to the docs to confirm/unconfirm this, alternatively, if she goes to the chemist and explains the symptons, they will suggest something. If it is worms, then everyone who has been in contact with the little girl will have to be treated. I hope I have helped!!

Hi,

I think she may have worms and needs to be taken to the doctor to get it checked out.

Worms is quite common in children and it can mean other children catch them too. Best thing to do is get her to GP and make sure that other children at home or in school and other family members, friends etc all practise correct hygiene and wash hands after toilet etc as this is how worms is often transmitted - by germs and bacteria etc.

Yup worms. You need to make sure that the bedding is changed as least once a week particulalry the bottom sheet and make sure that she washes her hands thoroughly after going to the loo and after touching those nether regions. Its nothing at all to worry about though. Good luck!!

She probably has diaper rash that keeps flaring up...wait, do you mean ON the buttocks or IN the buttocks? If it's IN, take her to the doctor. If it's ON, put some of that Desitin Diaper Rash cream on it.

my daughter scratches her bottom sometimes. she has eczema. the doctor prescribed her "locoid" (hydro cortisone) cream. it works great. tell your friend to bring her daughter to the doctor. its better safe then sorry. if it's not eczema, it could be something worse, or it could even be just a rash. who knows until its checked. good luck.
