Start/Run
Type "msconfig" without the quotes.
A window will appear. Click the Startup tag.
Look down the list of items for anything with AVG in it.
Click the corresponding box so that a tick appears. (Also see below)
Save, reboot, a message will appear. Click the box on bottom left and click ok.
Warning: DO NOT touch any other items in Startup. You could stop your machine from starting up.
If you can't find anything with AVG in it, reinstall AVG.

ill go off on a whim here, but i would say, probably in the AVG options config menu. most programs have an option somewhere that gives you the choice to allow it to load on startup. it will be something like a check box saying (click here to add to systray)..... good luck ~d

If you just put it in your recycle bin you can go back in and restore the program from there. If it was part of your original operating system you can bring up Add/Remove programs in your control panel. If it was a separate program on a disc you will have to use this disc in your installation program. Hope I've been of assistance.
