There is likely nothing wrong with your headphones. #1. Try replacing the batteries.#2. Plug the Audio cables from the base of the "transmitter" into the back of your satellite box where it says "Audio out left and right" The cables are color coded red=Right channel, white=left channel (For stereo sound) Make sure the transmitter is turned on and your headphones are on.Put your headphones on and try adjusting the frequency knob on the transmitter to match the frequency of you wireless headphones( it like tuning in a radio station), you just need to tune in your headphones to the same frequency of your "Transmitter. Use the adjustment knob on your headphones to fine tune the signal. Good luck, and let me know how it worked. I can almost assure you they are not "Broken" Dan 15 years Electronics Manager

RCA is not the only one making wireless headsets.
Wireless headsets are very popular with Gamers.
Even Microsoft sells them for the Xbox!!
So, any electronics store (Best Buy, Circuit, etc.) should have wireless headsets. Go to the "gaming" section.

The set-top box has nothing to do with your headset, its just outputs audio. The headset station has to transmit it to your headphones.

Try this. Try your headset with another source with audio out. Does it work? If not, time for a new set or at minimum fresh batteries.
