I asked yesterday

would tell your children, (this means big kids to, adults) either wirshipp this man or I will never let you come home, and eventually if you refuse then I will throw you into the oven, stove, etc.

To me this is what you say God is telling us. then you say, or some of you do, that its not God who does it, we do it ourselves, well, no its God who does it because its God who makes the finnal choice, and he wont let some come home and he throws them into the stove or furnace. I wouldnt do that to my kids, why do you think God would do it to his?

You're in way over your head, kid.

There are a couple of good reasons why people don't agree with you. The most important is that you're simply wrong - there's no gods, and of course no "God" is telling us anything. If God were telling me something, God would say it. He didn't - you're the one saying it, and since I'm not a Christian, I'm not willing to assume that you're God.

The second reason is of course that your presentation is awful. You're talking to people who are far smarter, more aware, more experienced, and more informed about religion and belief than you are. Writing sentences without periods, spelling words wrong, randomly omitting apostrophes and using poor sentence structure reflect an inability to think clearly and a nonawareness of the world around you. Why would people take you seriously?

Wow, I have to say I'm disappointed, not by the question, but by the responses. Here is someone who is questioning what a religious doctrine says and most of you are dismissing her with canned answers.

First, everyone who says that gods are not real, that is your belief based on what you've observed. It may or may not be true. Either way, Cindy does not, as yet, share that belief. This was an oppurtunity to share your views with her and possibly help her see as you do. Shame on you for your short, dismissive, and occasionally insulting responses.

Paul S, even with her spelling and grammar mistakes, I understood her question and took her seriously. Maybe you should try harder. Treating someone who is questioning their faith like an idiot because they do'nt talk gud isn't the best way to bring them to your way of thinking.

Those of you on the other side of the fence, saying not all are children of your god, you've only succeeded in making him appear fickle and egotistic. Your parents 'created' you. What if they only claimed you as their child if you behaved in a certain way. Not a very good case for a benevolent, loving god.

And finally, to answer the question at hand. This arguement is a valid concern for any parent in understanding and forming their religious beliefs. Perhaps, you're not as eloquent as people would like, but at least you're asking question. I agree with you, if I were the final authority and my children were coming home permanently, no matter what they might have done, I would never turn them away. I refuse to accept some sort of creator figure that would do this. Perhaps it is time for you to start looking for a new belief system.

That is a lie from hell,,sorry...satan would love for you to believe that but the fact is,,God does not throw one person in hell,,you do, by the choices you make....When God has made a way out and you choose to take the hard road,,your own fault..God said His people perish from a lack of knowledge...My thoughts read the word and ask the Lord before you say what God would do...God loves all His children and wants none to perish,He knows some will never come to Him and that saddens Him..He does loves all His children..

We are Gods children in the way that it was from his actions that we came to be.
He created the first human pair and we are their offspring.

But although this is a fact , many show that they are not his real children by their actions.
Many , actually most people in the world today , show that they are actually children of the chief opposer to Gods arrangement , Satan the devil.
By their actions they show that they are not really Gods children.

How do we show we are children of God ?

By learning the whole truth about him as recorded in the Holy Bible and living the life that Christians ought.

That means rejecting unclean pagan doctrines and celebrations , rejecting untruths like a hellfire place of torture and rejecting the ungodly trinity doctrine , and learning who God , and his Son Jesus really are.

This will include proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of the heavens as mans only way to salvation.
And most of all , we MUST in ever way show by our inward and outward actions and motives that we have the mind of Christ.

Anything less , and God will not approve of our service and will not listen to our prayers.

Just saying , ¨I believe in Jesus¨ is NOT enough.

This is the fear of god and fear is an evil that I choose not to believe in.I am not the child of any god, my god is my heart that gives me life each day.Not once in my 60 years has god throw anyone into the oven or told me we were related and if we were?did this god create incest?

Exactly. No loving parent could even think of doing such a thing. The whole "we do it to ourselves" line is nonsense.

If a loving god existed it would continue to love its children and maybe even give the a reason to beleive.

Cindy, many have an an opportunity to be God's children but some do refuse this offer. The wages of sin is death God is a righteous God. God does love us all enough to die in our place but he will not force you to accept the atonement. God is righteous and will always be righteous but he is merciful and has paid the penalty for you. If God dies in your place is not enough he must also force you to accept the atonement or He is cruel? God can not win if he forced his will on you that you would say he is cruel and if he does not then he is cruel...the only way God can please the unrighteous is also to be unrighteous?

I have re-read your posting four times now and I still don't understand what you are rambling on and on about. Something about God's children and burning in the oven, stove, or furnace. What's that?? Have another cup of coffee, please!

Religion can turn to a sickness:
It is all over the place--- misconscrewed interpretations of God have hurt and killed millions of people!

MY GOD IS A LOVING GOD, WHAT GOD DO YOU WORSHIP?

I agree with you 100%. I think its hypocritical for ppl to say that if we dont follow Jesus/God that we will burn in hell. I wouldn't disown my children like that so therefore I dont think that God would do that to me. I was told once that God doesn't have the same feelings like we do: jealousy, anger etc.
