My boyfriend of two and a half years has decided to split up with me due to fear of committing. Yet he keeps texting me. For silly things really. If i answer he will leave it a while, and if i dont, it starts again! Why is he doing this. He has said its over?

He wants to keep you as a security blanket. Don't answer anymore. Sooner or later, he'll get the picture.

Well, thats a weird situation. Going from personal experience, if I pester someone, it is usually cause I want something. Maybe he realizes he made a mistake and wants you back, maybe he just wants to annoy the hell out of you, who knows. I guess it would depend what he is texting you about. Try sitting down and talking to him about commitment and your relationship, I'm having the same problems right now, so I'm trying to be as helpful as I can through personal experience. Hope you get it all worked out though.

He's confused. It could be getting advice from his friends which envolves splitting with you however he still has feelings for you. Men's friends can have a deep impact on relationships. But the man envolved (ex-boyfriend) needs to be strong enough to know what he wants.

It's not a big deal. He probably still has feelings for you and is questioning himself (kind of like what your doing) how he should proceed.

Right now the ball is in your court. Its up to you to do whats best and I'm sure you already know within yourself just what that is. JUST DO IT!

Goodluck!

Sometimes it scares guys when women start acting like how their mothers did with their fathers, settling down and starting to get familiar with him. Being young they thought they'd always be more fun and enjoying life more than their parents, so when they see themselves aging as well, it's depressing/scary. This is one of the main causes of "fear of commitment"

It should take a guy no longer then eighteen months to realize he wants a long term committment. I wouldnt waste my time with this guy. Cut off all communication and find a new love that will treat you with the love and respect you deserve.

he is just making sure your waiting around for him still. Get on with your life, stop answering him, and then he will probably ask for you to come back or finally leave you alone so you can get a real man

Walking away from a relationship isn't easy. Even if he's the one who ended it he has doubts.

I think he truly does want to be with you, he is just scared for whatever reason. Talk to him, and let him know that you will not hurt him.
