1 pound of fat is about 3500 Calories.

10 Shakes at 5000 Calories each is 50,000 Calories a day.
Taking out the basal usage... assume 2000 calories, you have a net +48,000 Calories a day.

If the body can convert 100% of that to fat, then that is 13.7 pounds of fat a day.

However, I find it hard that you body can store that much in one day. Also, your body - liver and kidneys will be taxed pretty hard dealing with all the extra calories where you'll end up with abnormal liver readings and high blood triglycerides.

The closest example I can think of is the movie "Supersize Me". Watch that movie and you'll see the effects of a high calorie, high fat diet.

Edit... I didn't see the part were you were also eating your regular meals. Theoretically, you can gain 14 pounds of fat a day if your body could handle that much calorie input.

Also, 5000 calories is kind of high for a drink. An Outback Bloomin Onion has about 2200 calories for the whole thing. Imagine eating over 20 of those a day to get the same caloric intake of 10 of the super-calorie shakes. The shakes must be all fat... actually about 2.5 cups of oil will give you 5000 Calories. Wow! lol

5000 Calorie Weight Gainer

First of all, I'm assuming you want to gain muscle and get bigger; do it the healthy way and stay consistent and you won't need to worry about how much weight your gaining because it will come.
If you're going to eat 4-5 HEALTHY meals a day including carbohydrates and protein, you don't need that many shakes. AND I hope you're planning on working out every day -weight lifting, with moderate cardio. You need the cardio no matter what, but it's a calorie burner so go light. Lifting will help that protein build muscle.
The best resource's I've ever used:
#1 Arnold Schwarzenegger's "The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding"
#2 Join a REAL gym (like Powerhouse or Gold's). They usually have free assistance for beginner's and these guys know what they're talking about. Make some friends, with the older guys who look like they know what they're doing, they usually do.
And for goodness's sake, stay away from the steroids - they'll kill you!

Lift, lift, lift and good luck!!!!!

Oh, and by the way, from a woman's point of view: If you're going to get into bodybuilding to get a better body, PLEASE remember - no body likes big upper body with skinny legs, work them too!

One more little tip - Keep up your potassium to ward off the inevitable muscle cramps. Eat a banana every day.

5000 Calorie Shake

If I were you, I wont do that...
Your body should be able to handle 4 to 5 meals per day, but i dont think it can handle 10-15 shakes per day...
What I read is that "Too much protein in the diet is a serious problem that causes liver and kidney failure as well as softening of the bones. " (not sure how true it is, but i rather believe it than regret later)
So I would rather do it slowly than risk my health

To gain weight, exercise and eat more and some shakes might be helpful...just dont over work your body

Gain weight it pretty tough from my experienc compare to losing weight. Expected 2 months and person will tell you the difference. Besides shakes, you need someone whom might help you to absorb the calories......

he metabolic powers specific foods have to make your body burn a lot more body fat.” It is a way of rating foods, primarily based on “how numerous calories your body is going to burn just breaking down the nutrients every single time you consume a certain meals.”
Therefore, you are not alone in this battle.

In the mood for the hot meal? Make a big pot of veggie bean soup, divide into two-cup containers, and store within the freezer. Before bed, place a container in the fridge, then grab it before heading out the door each day.
