That your country does not support you because you are doing the wrong thing for the wrong reasons.
It really helps destroy moral when the people back home SEEM to not be behind you.
A few big mouths get a lot of press and that view is pushed on the troops.

That they are conservative
That they are moral
That Jesus is as big of a bigot as they are
That they are the only ones that love their country
That if you have any thoughts that don't line up with their party you are not a "real" American
That when they use drugs it wasn't their fault
That when they lie and start wars, it's for our own good

That it is a never ending struggle, regardless of the amount of troops and resources you throw into the struggle. Warfare: Just as psychological as physical.

That your going home, but you're really going to be there for the duration and beyond! What ever happened to those soldiers that were captured,we never hear any thing more about them? Were they beheaded or just found dead?
