i've also been cutting my caloric intake and eating more fruits and vegetables.

agreed that "diet" is an evil word. when i say i've been cutting my caloric intake, i mean i havent been eating all the usual crap that i eat when i'm a)bored b)want something sweet or c)bored.

You should notice it in a couple of weeks but don't forget you are likely going to build some muscle as well & muscle weighs more than fat. You will notice your body shape changing & that's what you should concentrate on more than what the weigh scale shows. You should also be doing some ab exercises & lifting some weights. You can help your abs by "sucking them in" while bike riding but you should still be doing some crunches as well.
