i hear this is a great tool for antivirus, spam ect...however should i uninstall my norton prior to downloading avg?

You can't use both at the same time. You are paying for Norton, so if it's up to date and you keep it current, use what you have. If your subscription is about to run out, then use the Norton Removal tool to uninstall it and get the free AVG 7.5.

You won't get Norton uninstalled without using the above tool.

Yes, two different anti-virus programs running at once can cause problems, so you should uninstall Norton first. AVGFree is a good program but every now and then I used to have problems running the update and had to do it manually.

AVG is not better than Norton, if your Norton installation is working properly. Is your Norton up to date?

You cannot run both, antivirus programs do not get along together very well.

norton is much better than avg... but if norton slows your computer down, you could switch to avg...
