It's fine. Don't worry too much. A treat once in a while is ok. 4 grams of sugar isn't even that much. Just don't go for anything over 40 grams.

Sugar is not the enemy. As long as you are eating one serving of the peanut butter, it is fine but one serving may be much less than you normally eat.
Refined sugar is the problem. Refined sugar can be found in soft drinks, candy, cakes etc.
Naturally- occurring sugars should be included in your diet. Naturally-occurring sugars are found in milk, dairy products and fruits and vegetables.
Reduced fat peanut butter can have more refined sugar than regular peanut butter because the refined sugar is added to replace the taste of the fat. Eat regular peanut butter (no more than one serving per day) and keep your total daily fat intake to 25-30 grams.

4 grams of sugar is fine, it is a very small amount. It is just fine, so enjoy your peanut butter. I love peanut butter. Also as long as you are watching your sugar intake on other things this little amount of 4 grams is nothing then.

I don't buy Jif as it generally contains corn syrup, and/or high fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated oils. To me,that kills the benefits and yummyness of peanut butter Even the Simply Jif contains the partially hydrogenated oils. We buy natural peanut butter with natural sugar. I prefer the sugar free kind, but my husband doesn't like the separation of the oil. So we compromise and buy the natural peanut butter with the natural sugars. I refuse to eat any other kind, especially while pregnant. Yum.

Refined sugar is a toxin to the body, but 4 grams is not a killer here.
The bigger issue is "Hydrogenated"
If the peanut butter has anything "Hydrogenated" your in trouble.
Hydrogenated food is exposed to Hydrogen which "alters" the molecules and "binds" them together tight so they don't break down easily. It turns it solid. This aids as a preservative.
The bad news is that it actually turns the stuff into a form not unlike plastic.
Even flies will not eat "Hydrogenated" foods.
I equate "Hydrogenated" to "Poisin"
Research it, you'll see.
Remember this: Oils that stay liquid at room temp are better for you than oils that are solid at room temp.
Think about it.......................................................

That much sugar in peanut butter won't do anything except make it taste better .... remember it's in the whole jar not in the tablespoon's worth you are eating on your toast.
