Mr. Jello, type in Superfund sites for your state on your search engine and find out how many VERY polluted locations you have locally. The pollution is caused by some of America's corporations.
Industrial pollution does exist in industrialised nations. I work for a company that cleans up hazardous waste and we quite frequently have to clean up the messes our corporations & government contractors have left. It's what I do everyday.
A large aerospace manufacturer was recently fined for dumping percholate outside it's plant. A 7-UP factory was fined for dumping pollutants into the river next to its plant. A large home improvement chain store was just fined for improperly storing chemicals that caused a 55 gallon drum to blow up and set the store on fire. Another company in Northern California was shut down by the state because of accidental releases of toxic chemicals into the air. They were also cited and fined for groundwater and soil pollution with toxic chemicals.
Then in Arizona there is the Native American tribe that is still suffering (cancer and deformities in humans and animals) from the uranium that was open pit mined on their reservation. When the company vacated they left uranium slag heaps out in the open.
Silver mining in Nevada also puts cyanide into the water.
I can go on and on. I read about this stuff constantly in trade publications.

It's not industrial pollution, as that almost doesn't exist anymore in Capitalistic countries, it government pollution that needs better controls.
