There are quite a number of computer programs out there to teach you and to help you increase accuracy and speed. That's how my kids learned the right way to type, instead of the pecking finger approach... The program we used is called TyperShark. It's fun cause it's a game.
The only other thing that will increase your speed and accuracy is PRACTICE.........
Get yourself TyperShark or some other program...

Cover the letters on the keyboard. That's the old fashion way of learning not to look. Speed and accuracy improve with practice. Accuracy being the most important.

The best way to learn is to use software that teaches typing. A plus is software that also teaches 10-key typing (using the number pad).
The last typing tutor software I bought was Mavis Beacon 8, 3 or 4 years ago. It does just fine and it also teaches 10-key (which I haven't tried yet).

Practice. I always glance at the keyboard, and I can type 65wpm with 99% accuracy. Whatever works for you.

Personally, in hiring billers, I didn;t care about speed. ,
Accuracy was everything. Conctrate on that and speed will come. Speed will come bcause you're not spending a lot of time correcting mistakes.
During interviews,, i was asked "how many words per minute do I want." I'd reply, "as many as you can do without making mistakes."

Practice, practice, practice. My fiance has an interview on tomorrow and I have been telling him to practice. We used the website: typingtest.com and it worked. It gave wpm and the percentage of accuracy. It allows you to choose a subject you want to type and it shows you the letters you got wrong. Good luck!!!
