is there no disaster that can't be blamed on global warming? i didn't even bother reading the story about the earthquakes, my intelligence can only take so much battering.

YEAP!!sadly it's true...global warming can cause disasterous earthquakes !! The idea is that melting glaciers changes the weight distribution on the earth’s surface and that the earth rebounds:
The reason is that one cubic meter of ice weighs just over a ton, and glaciers can be hundreds of meters thick. When they melt and the water runs off,- it is literally a weight off Earth’s crust-. The crust and mantle therefore bounce back immediately -as well as over thousands of years- That “isostatic rebound,” according to studies of prehistoric and recent earthquakes and volcanoes, can make the planet’s seismic plates slip catastrophically, and cause magma chambers that feed volcanoes to act like bottles of shaken seltzer!!!
HELP STOP GLOBAL WARMING !!

I just read a similar themed article. Interesting how they mentioned that meltin ice would cause an uphevel of the crust that would cause earthquakes and volcano's, and the melting water would push the self same crust down, causing earthquakes and volcanos. How is it that both cause the same thing? Sounds more like more evidence that Earth is a self regulating bio-machine that can pretty much ignore anything we do. And we'll just ignore the fact that Volcanism has already been on an upswing way longer than the current of many Global Warmings.

Didn't even bother, eh? That's the attitude! Got us through many a war and solved all kinds of problems, hasn't it?
I didn't read the story either -- being on vacation away from phones, TV, radio and internet makes one lose touch -- but then I'm not posting silly questions on Yahoo Q&A, either.

I've even heard some blame tsunamis on global warming.
No reasonable person could believe this was true, but then global warming is an argument of emotion, not reason.

Your attempts to discredit the science of global warming by meeting it with science are becoming increasingly pathetic. Why did you not provide a link?
