This is a copy and paste from a parenting board, when I read the story it upset me so I thought I would spread the word and share this sad story.
A friend of mine lost custody of her son this month in a custody battle and now a group of blogger moms want something done about it and have set up this blog http://bloggingforjustice.blogspot.com/ . Please read and spread the word.. post on every blog/msg board, etc.. you are able to so we can help CJ and her son out!! There is NO reason for her son to be taken from his home. One of the reasons this 11 yr old boy was pulled from his home is because the Judge thought that CJ had enough on her plate with her two adopted toddlers with Down Syndrome at home(arghhhhh). Please read and spread the word. This is such a sad sad story and something really needs to be done about it. Her son now calls home everynight crying saying he wants to go back HOME.
Is it me or does any one else think the system is messed up?

I know this family through a Down syndrome forum and this is such a sad case. It seems so unfair. I also urge people to participate in this blog for justice.

JennA, I'm interested in your source regarding the belief that this mother had a breech of contract with the father. If that had been the case, he could have taken her to court long ago. The mother always made the child available to the father AND the father never contested the changing of the child's name for TEN YEARS? Sounds more like a "use this against her in court even though I never had a problem with it because she did amend the name at my request before the child was even a year old."

And since when is a breech of contract enough to turn a pre-adolescent child's world up-side-down by changing custody at this point in his life. Legally speaking, that is NOT grounds to change custody because, again, the mother NEVER denied the father rights to the child in any way, shape or form.

The part i find the most ridiculous is that this boy is 11, he is by far old enough to have a say in what parent he wants to live with, you say he phones home crying for his mum, has she tried recording the phone calls and using this in the case to show her child is unhappy living with his father?

I hope your friend is able to get this sorted - much luck xx

heres the thing. this mother breeched agreements with the childs father. the childs father has rights too and the mom was blocking him from his child. she deserved to lose her son. this wont ever happen to me. my son has his daddy. i am married to him. yes this mom is responsible and a fit parent. thats not the issue.. the issue is that she kept this child from his father by moving and failing to give the agreed upon name/ she deserved to lose her child. this dad was within rights to do this. they had an agreement and she failed to fulfill end of story. theres no abuse in this case thats why social services left the other two kids in her care. its an a breech of contract issue here
