Aren't Atheists just big babies?

Was Jesus born as an atheist?

Oh, and while you are at it, explain infinity. Give enough details for a good understanding.

Oh, infinity doesn't have anything to do with being an atheist... I just don't completely understand it. Such as how long does it take to draw an infinite line? Stuff like that.

Atheist, is one who have been offered the believe in God, by any source and who rejects the believe in God. If some one is not offered believe in God is not an Atheist at all.

I hate this 'born an Atheist' thing. It is just a stupid statement. Mankind created gods in their minds. They did it when they became old enough to think and wonder about such things. Babies are born not even knowing that they are babies! They don't even discover that they have feet till about 4-6 months of age.
You know what infinity means... I don't really think that details are necessary. You either know what it means or you are not capable of understanding what it means

Not only born, but we all die also as atheists. Until the time we can understand what we mean by being a theist, we can never be one.

Jesus was an incarnation and was a Mahapurush (Divine personality). A divine personality is the only person to be a theist. We all are atheists until we get divinity.

Every thing related to God is infinite. Unless we know God, how on earth we, with our limitations, can gauge infinite?

There is an answer to the infinite also (when we are graced with the association with a real saint), but that will ever remain incomplete. But we ourselves will start feeling ourselves to be in infinite. And it can not be by the application of our intellect. So claiming yourself to be an atheist (though we all are), is the first sign of using your intellect in acceptance.

The word atheist is used a couple different ways. There are:

1. Atheists who claims god doesn't exist.

2. Atheists who don't believe in god but don't deny there might be a god (or gods).

The first group can never prove their claim so they're acting on faith. The second group are what you were the day you were born.

As for infinity, that describes the amount of money it would take to make your local school board stop screaming for more.

No I don't think so. I think we know God when we are growing up in the womb. I heard this story of a young girl (it was on 20/20 or something) who painted beautiful pictures of Jesus and Heaven that had been raised in an atheist household without a mention of the existence of God so that must kinda prove something.

I think atheist are people who rely on science and expect certainty. Big babies, no.

And if Jesus is god, how could he born not believing in the existence of god?

This is all quite confusing.

I think we are born with an instict that there is a God, a higher power, a great spirit. We might not know his name but somehow all societies and civilisations have had some degree of awareness.

Helen Keller is a good example . Blind and deaf from the age of two, she had lived a life of isolation, unable to speak knew no language, unable to know what a word was, unable to communicate in anyway.

She was eventualy taught to communicate by a dedicated teacher in a process that has inspired people ever since. She learned to speak, to read, to write. She went to college and graduated with honors. She dedicated her entire life to educating the world about its responsibility to its disabled members.

In one of her letters, Helen said that she had always known about God, even before she had any words. Even before she could call God anything, she knew God was there.

She didn't know what it was. God had no name -- nothing had a name for her. She had no concept of a name. But in her darkness and isolation, she knew she was not alone. Someone was with her. She felt God's love. And when she received the gift of language and heard about God, she said she already knew about him - she just didn't know his name. Clearly Helen was not born an atheist and her sense of God came from within!

Infinity is many things to many people.

To mathematicians, it is something that is practically 'concrete' and the many different kinds of 'infinity' can be classified in terms or Cantor's Transfinite Numbers. There are countable and un-countable infinities, and who knows what other kinds in between.

To physicists and astronomers, there are no infinities in the physical world. Not even space and time itself need to be 'infinite' in the purely mathematical sense. Whenever 'infinity' appears as a prediction by a theory of the physical world, it is deemed a flaw, and must be eliminated. It is considered a signal that the particular theory has been extended beyond its domain of applicability.

Newtonian mechanics had no problem with bodies attaining infinite velocity, or acting through space with infinite speed. These expectations led to falsifiable predictions and that is, in part, why we now have special and general relativity. In the few cases where general relativity predicts 'infinity' in the form of singularities, this is regarded as a defect in general relativity theory that will be healed when a fully quantum theory of gravity is developed.

Prophet Muhammad said that when we are born we are on the right path but it's our parents that make us either Christians, Muslims, Atheist...etc
Of course when you grow up you might just follow your parents religion or try to find what you believe in but originally we are all born to worship one god only.
Are Atheists just babies? I think that in their heart they must believe that there is a god they are just too stubborn to admit it.
Jesus was not born an Atheist. I'm not sure what do you mean by infinity if you mean what happens after death then if you worshiped god you go to heaven if you worshiped anyone else or didn't believe in god you go to hill you stay there for eternity there is no end to it. we as Muslims consider this world is just a path we are all going to die and what happens in the after life depends on what you did in this.

We are all born animists. If left to define their own beliefs, children tend to form the idea that there is something more than just what we are. In religious households, this becomes talk about the relevant god(s). It's only when the more adult reasoning and logical thought takes over that complete non-spiritual atheism kicks in. The original spiritual atheism is lost with the innocence of childhood unless you work at it.

It would seem very likely that a baby is born without belief of any gods, such a lack of beliefs would be considered Atheistic. If Jesus was born as a human and not a god I would imagine he would also be under the same circumstances.

Infinity is without end.

Yes, we're all born lacking belief.

Well, we're all "big babies" in that we all started out as infants and then got a lot bigger!

I still have a hard time understanding exactly what Jesus was. Was he a man, a god, did he have DNA, did he have a soul, etc etc. Oh, and did he come into this world as an infant but also with total and complete knowledge like God?

How long does it take to draw an infinite line? Forever. :-D

Atheists can be split into two different groups.

Those who can't or haven't ever considered the existence of God
Those who have considered God and rejected the idea as false.

Babies fall into the former, most of the atheists here fall into the latter.

No, atheists aren't big babies. Yes, if Jesus existed, he was born an atheist.

Infinite means unending or limitless.
