Uh Talibani is a Kurd..........do some research, check out Kurdistan, check out a recent report on 60 Minutes concerning Kurdistan. Talibani is a great man and in north east Iraq, aka, Kurdistan people are living their lives, doing great things, and prospering. We can only hope, with him in office that the rest of Iraq will follow suit.

I think you are referring to the Kurdish leader, Jalal Talabani, who sits on the 25 man Governing Council. This is not an uncommon name and comes from the Sanskrit word for "student".

The Afghani Taliban are named from the same root word, as they see themselves as the only true students of the Holy Koran.
