You have to know how to be able to deliver your joke. Timing is very important for the joke to go well.

Content and delivery. You have to have the right timing and delivery to tell the joke. And you have to have funny jokes. Too many so called comedians forget to be funny. They think being rude and crude is funny, but it is not.
