Someone on here this morning said that all lust is a sin. How can you be accountable for random thought processes while you are asleep? Please can someone explain this to me.

Not at all, they are very natural.

People who claim they are "sins" and you should feel guilty about them are misguided and the result of centuries of religious power over society.

I don't want to come over as a raving fanatic here, but in this day and age how people can still claim that one of the most natural biological desires, ie for procreation, is not allowed / a sin / to be frowned upon / because God says so, is a mystery to me. And actually psychologically dangerous.

A person's moral values vary depending on their religious beliefs and general upbringing. Lust is a natural human reaction that cannot be prevented but it can be controlled, how 'sinful' it is depends on your moral view. Dreams are a reflection of the subconscious mind running through the information absorbed, it is how you react to these dreams that would be considered 'sinful'. Interpreting the dreams on a more spiritual level should clarify any 'sexual' connotations and relieve any guilty feelings that society may require you to consider.

I believe that lustful images in dreams only become sinful if you start wanting to act upon them and do go through and act upon what you experienced in the dream

Crazy people with crazy not so much thoughts, those don't count, and a book taken way to seriously.
What if some other crazy guy got picked as a Messiah and preached the sanctity of heroin?

simple. that someone just told you stupid nonesence.

Tom Waits song : "you are innocent when you dream"

I am married. I often dream to have sex with other girls I know.
(but I never had in real life)
I tell my wife, itsw fine with her, she has similar dreams.
Its wou;d be pretty stupid, to get divorced, because of my dreams, right ?

What if you dream, that you killed somebody ? Ar eyou going to prison in real life ?
see how stupid that is ?
You can not control you r dreams. Its said, that dreams often have topics which are in your subconciousnes, so its often topics which actually regards to your real life, but those dreams often change and twist the reality, you dream of peopl eyou know, but you can not controll the "story"

Lust becomes sinful when you dwell on it and fantasize actively. You cannot be held accountable for involuntary thoughts.

the lord can help you overcome your possesed body.
often dreams are the gateway in which the devil and his partners lust and greed creep into our richly created lives. and we can protect ourselves from these monstrosities. Pray, to the Lord for forgiveness. PRAY for peace in your home. PRAY TO MAKE YOUSELF STRONG AGAIN.
we can all be weak, what matters is to know when we fall, he will help us to get back up and defeat the inner-evil.
Go in the knowledge I am with you.
Nark!

No. it is flesh. If it bothers you, talk to God about it, that's the idea! Even if you repent for a sin that didn't need it, Im sure he understands.
