With the exception of polytheism in Greek Mythology.....
Can Zeus be compared to God?
Can Heaven be compared to Mt. Olympus?
Can Hades(the god) be compared to the devil?
Can Hades(the place) be compared to Hell?

By the way, I am agnostic but I just hate when people attempt to prostylitize me when their beliefs could be called "mythology" in a thousand years or so.

Elysian Fields would be Greek Mythology's version of heavens..Mt. Olympus would be where the god's lived.

Of course you could parallel Christianity to any myths. Just like you can parallel Greek mythology with Native American myths..etc.

However the main difference is well, one they can actually prove has historically accurate Characters (aka the Bible and people in it)..while we do not really have any proof of a majority of the Greek characters (there are some though..the Iliad, the odyssey with some real people). Also Christianity is a mono theistic not a poly theistic religion..so that kind of puts a dent in some of the similarities..oh duh you said that my bad..

If you are uncomfortable with people sharing their beliefs simply tell them you are not comfortable or well you do not care to hear about them..Most of us Christians will be ok with that and respect that you have your own views and beliefs system..just be polite about it..you know?

NO, NO, NO!
The whole point of Greek Mythology was to entertain and explain things.
Gods were meant to be seen just as petty as people.
They were jealous, they were spiteful, yet they were noble and kind.
Hades, despite being the ruler of the underworld, was not Evil. e did bad acts, but so did everyone else.
There are no Evil gods.
The Underworld (what you called Hades) is where all souls go, not just bad ones.
The bad guys went to Tatarus.
The good guys went to the Fields of Elysium.
Mt. Olympus was not for good people, it was for gods and gods alone.
Zeus could not be God.
"God" set rules and punishes people who don't follow them, he created the world.
Zeus is grandson of Gaia/Uranus, the creators of the world. Zeus does what he wants and punishes mortals when he feels like it, and rewards them when he feels like it.

The Point: Christianity is all about following Gods Rules. Greek Myths are all about learning for yourself and knowing that Gods are just people with supernatural powers who can be just as petty or good as you.

Yes you can compare them because the themes of mythology are eternal and human, good and evil, crime and punishment etc.

The thing is though, Zeus and company are not historical persons, Jesus Christ is.

That would depend on which pagan you asked.
While there is a link to the STORIES of the two, the worldview is very different.

that is not a fair comparison because there is a slight chance mythology can be proven and for real

*adding you to my prayer list*

It is my belief that in a 1000 years that you will be wishing you had realized Christianity was NOT a myth.

If I am wrong, no big deal, I'll have lived a good life and nothing beyond.

If you are wrong.............
