Dude, you have no clue. Infantry men fight on the ground everyday without the help of air strikes, it doesn't make good PR when we drop a bomb in the middle of down town Baghdad. I don't know if I'd call it bravery or courage, but it does take some balls to go fight in a foreign land thousands of miles from home, not knowing when or where you'll be hit with an ied or motor round. What would you suggest we completely disregard our technology and superiority and fight them with the exact same weapons and techniques they have, just so we can say it was a fair fight?? You sit behind your computer and criticize soldiers who are ten times the man you'll ever be, how screwed up is that??

how many of you have been in a war? prob none of you that being said why would i put my troops at risk to enter a house that the enemy is using as a strong hold? if you have the abilty to drop a 500 pound bomb on a home and kill the enemy then use it the us army war doctrine is 3-1 those are the odds we are tought to use for every one of them we use 3 and if we dont have that number then use other means to equil it out bottom line is a fight weather its with rocks guns or fists is won by the person who gets the most violent the fastest, the most powerfull weapon i had in my arsenal in iraq was my radio on the other end of that radio was all the firepower i ever needed to end a firefight. and if your stupid enough to fight us then then you better be ready to have a 2000 bomb dropped right down on top of you.

utilising air support when in a fire fight is standard operating procedure, at least its more manly than setting off an I.E.D from long distance because you know man to man you wont be able to beat the Allied Forces.

This is called Tactics and Americans or Britishers are no exception.Your example is out of place.You should have started from before you broke in to my house with a machine gun.What if I had Killed some members of your family in cold blood for no reason and then you broke in to my house with a machine gun.Now,you complete the narrative and see for yourself how things stand.Soldiers who are fighting have no personal Axe to grind but are doing to protect their country through an example ,to all such other people, who may think of doing similar things to your country in future,apart from punishing the wrong doers now.Yes,I should have taken in to consideration the superiority of your weapons before killing your folks but if I was a pig headed and arrogant trigger happy man,then I should be man enough to accept on onslaught of your weapons and anger.now in return.Please think again and think hard.

The Americans do call in too many air strikes and because of that they are called cowards.The British only use air strikes if they need to and it's a well known fact that they do the job with their rifleman and not air strikes

Here's a true story about Americans wanting air strikes all the time.

In the Vietnam war some American soldiers wanted to call in an air strike to get rid a bunker,an Australian that was with them said why do you need to do that for and he got a can of petrol,threw it in followed by a grenade and blew the bunker up Commando style.

This is a true story and very well known.
