It depends on age. There is a big difference between him being 17 and you 15 or him 17 and you 14. When I was a freshman I dated a Junior and looking back I learned alot from her (in more ways than one). lol.

I believe now though that I lacked the maturity to make the relationship work.

No way. Age is just a number. I dated someone that was four years older during my senior year at high school. If you two really have chemistry, you'll find something. If not, dont force it, just relax. Find out what he's into, what games he watches or bands he listens to. Entertainment news on people such as Michael Vick is also another thing you can talk about. Definately try to pull it away from school. And if it doesn't happen, don't get down on yourself. There are plenty of fish in the sea. But ya only live once, so why not do it with no regrets.

I don't think its a big deal having a 2-year gap between your ages. Besides, if he's interested in you then it doesn't really matter. At least you get to talk to him. Anyway, try to ease up topics about family and friends or anything during your conversations with him to get to know him better. If he can open up to you about his life outside of school then maybe he is taking you seriously. If he isn't then all is not lost. Your a freshman after all so you have all the time you need to explore.

Two yrs isn't that bad. You know age is nothing but a number and love knows no limits...Love is just love.
Besides you're only a freshman and you have a long way to go and alot to learn.....just be yourself and go with the flow.
If he is really interested in you as well, then he will show and bring up other conversations other than about school.
Don't stress on it or worry bout a silly junior girl there will be plenty of opportunities for you later in life.

"In high school 2 years older is a big deal."
In real life, 20 years older is a big deal.

Don't worry about a small 2 year difference. As long as he WILL take you seriously, then you're fine.

Ask him stuff like what he's interested in, his hobbies, what he does in his spare time, what his family's like, siblings, etc. Try to be comfortable around him or else it will never work.

G'luck.

I was a freshman (I was 14) once in high school and I got asked out by a guy who was a senior (He was 18). I was smitten by him and he liked me but he didn't take me seriously and my god everytime we were together, it would turn heads. People were always watching us not giving us any privacy. Because of the age difference. Are you ready for that kind of relationship?

I like a guy who's 3 years older than me and in high school so it's fine.
Just have a conversation with him about school and then bring up a random top like what's your favorite sports team or whatever. Trust me, guys will go on forever about sports.
Just be yourself with him.

its not a big problem, are u guys gonna date inside of ur school? i don't thinks so. and he is not too old for u. many relationship stands on this kinda age gap. u guys will go outside for dating. its u who is gonna decide " is he perfect for me?". give a try. go little further, have some eye contact, smile, try to say something funny, react carefully what he says, if he says something funny, smile, and try brush ur arm with his arm. ask him, what he likes to do on his off time/ leisure. see if u can find something interesting about his hobbies and leisure time? ask him if u can join. good luck.
