I personally believe that most cases of depression/anxiety are
rooted in biology and genetics, not psychology. I'm not here to say that medication is the answer to everything, but I do believe that in most instances they work better (and are less expensive in the long run) than 'talking' sessions.

I think that therapy is the best thing since slice bread. U are talking with someone who will not judge u and u can say anything u wish. Meds a joke half the country are on psych meds for no reason. Talk therapy can get all that crap out of your head instead of storing in until u fricking zone out. Talk therapy is still a little tabu, people think if u talk with a therapist something must be wrong with u and are paranoid of u. Please talk no meds.

Mental problems are commonly due to a chemical imbalance. You can actually reprogram your brain and change the way your brain operates to overcome this. Thats what talk therapy (free association according to Freud) is about. Meds should be used initially to help you get control and supplemented with therapy to get the maximum effect.
But, not everything can be cured with therapy alone - and sometimes meds are necessary for life. If you think your therapy is worthless, perhaps you should seek out someone else to go to.
So will talk therapy cure you? No. Will meds cure you? Not likely. Will both together help you control the problems you're experiencing? With the right meds and therapist - very likely.

Raise your hand if you're sure lol. It's all bogus. I want to die. That will never change. The last "therapist" I had was a beyotch. Good thing I only had to go 15 sessions with her. PFFT. Just switched shrinks and even HE said meds are NO good for Borderline losers like me.

LOL...my therapist fell asleep when I was talking to him. I could have stayed home and talked to my husband if I wanted that kind of response! Never went back.

Talk therapy -- you get out of it -- what you put into it.
