YES!...because even jesus christ give gift to a wedding when there is lack of wine...He made a better wine on that day..Right?? So we must accept a gift on a wedding because God is the maker of a happy family life that start in a wedding day

i think they can- i think the only reason they don't do birthday presents etc is bcos john the baptist's head was served up as a birthday present - or celebrating birthday's was a roman tradition, not a jewish one (only bcos it wasn't mentioned in the bible) therefore the Saviour did not practice it.
