i've been playing soccer for a couple weeks and i wasn't very active before that. one of my knees started hurting pretty bad when i bent it and it started clicking whenever i'd move it so i took a little break. for the past few days i've been pretty unactive and trying to stay off my bad knee. but then the same thing happened to my other knee this morning. i'm afraid i have arthritis. but i'm only 15. and none of my other joints hurt. what's wrong with me?

I doubt if it is arthritis, although it can occur at any age.
More than likely it is that your ligaments are severely strained, since you have had alot of exercise lately. You must be very careful if this is the case because it would be very easy to tear or stain right now, Elastic knee braces might not be a bad idea, and also exercising your knees (outside of soccer) a couple times a day. You should strengthen them slowly, though.

It could be that your legs aren't used to the exercise yet (can take about 6 weeks to adjust to a new activity). But based on the clicking sounds yes it could possibly be arthritis.

I started having problems with my knees just as a result of playing with my friends when I was your age. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis (the arthritis caused by wear and tear of the joints caused by injury) when I was 19.

I have been living with arthritis for nearly 20 years. I'm 36 now.

Please let your mom know what is going on and also see your doctor to have your knees evaluated further to see what they think is going on.
