Ive been dating this girl for 8 months now. Started out great then turned rocky! She needed and wanted a little more attn then I am used to giving. I pushed away a bit because i was unsure of her feel. She then pushed harder toward me. She then took a trip to and ran into an an ex. Told me she was confused. Said she did not cheat? We had several long talks since then resolving(hopefully) all issues. I changed my work schedule to allow me more time to spend with her. I decided to fully trust her. Very tough to due. Things for the last month have been perfect. Im feeling closer and closer to her. I then saw an email she wrote when she was near him. stating that she has felt he is supposed to be her husband. etc.and that she still compares all guys to him. Because I was not gving her enough attn. She was not sure that I was what she was looking for. Since she is back she has reassured me that I am what she wants. ex was 3 yrs ago. 9mo long relationship but engaged. Am i wasting my time!

No your not, she is insecure and i can tell! she compares guys to him probably because she didn't want to end thier relationship he did. So you just need to let her know that she is getting all the attention you have time for, you really love her and trust her but the ex makes you feel uncomfortable. And if being a little less of friends with him, is what you might want to ask of her. And if i doesn't work, find an independant cutie, that loves u to death!

You have already resolved that issue. That email was before you worked things out. Now things have changed. Let the past go, and enjoy what is happening now. Try to keep the lines of communication open, so that this situation never occurs again and all will be fine.

I'd maybe find a way to talk to the ex boyfriend and try to work things out with him. Like maybe speak to him over the phone about how your girlfriend thinks she has these feeling for him. If he's a good guy he will understand and back off.

A serious relationship means moving on and no such things as "ex" or whatever else there is. No excuses, buts, or ifs. If you question the relationship, it's not worth it.
Better to end it now verses 3 years later when it gets even harder. Good luck.

Get over her. Obviously she doesn't know what she wants. You shouldn't put yourself in the position of being her guinea pig while she is figuring it out. Just cut your losses and move on. Tell her to give you a call when she figures it out. If she is really into you, she shouldn't be comparing you to her X and those feelings shouldn't have come back to her like they did if she was over him. I would let her go so she can figure out what she is going to do.

Either you trust her or you don't. If you don't, it will never work. Only you know how you feel. If you have to ask total strangers for advice, I would say that you want to get out of the relationship. Maybe some time apart would help you decide.

she may have been confused when she was near him even more so if you were having problems. The fact that she didn't cheat shows she cared for you. Talk out your worries and don't make judgements based on sneaked emails

Yes, she is wasting your time. Why hang on for this middle-school drama? I would get out as soon as possible and just MOVE ON MAN! Seriously, I feel like I am answering an advice colum for a high school newspaper.

just coz she says she didnt cheat doesnt mean she didnt. You shouldnt have to change yourself to make her happy. when my fiance and i started dating he admitted that his ex's dumped him coz he didnt pay them enough attention so he really tried hard to be affectionate all the time with me. the longer we went out for the more relaxed he got and went back to being himself and i resented the change. I almost left him but 6years and 2 kids later i have accepted the way he is and love him anyway. dont change your life around for her. find a woman who is happy to slide into your life as it is (with a bit of compromising of course) If she is comparing you to her ex its because she isnt happy. dump her *** and move on.

It seems almost that your sure of your feelings and that you seemed to have fully given yourself to her, the only person that does not seem to be clear about what they want is your girlfriend.Talk to her and make it clear where you stand with her and what you out of this relationship,then ask her what she wants.and if she wants to be with your or not.If she is unclear or sure then its a sign to move on ,goodluck.
