No. Ignorance is rarely helpful.

However, a little knowledge is dangerous, rather a great deal of knowledge is beneficial. A good example is Islam. If you know almost nothing except that Islamic terrorists attacked our capital and largest city in 2001, you might conclude that Islam is completely evil. If you knew a little bit, you might conclude that Islam is a great world religion, equal in validity to Christianity, and shares a common monotheism with Judaism and Christianity.

If you knew quite a bit about Islam, you would understand that Muhammad was a religious poseur with a harem of wives, one of whom was a 9-year-old girl. He was a slave owner who used slave women as sex objects. He also had "Allah" command that his daughter in law divorce his son and join Muhammad's harem. Muhammad spread his new religious insights by military conquest, and occasionally carried out ruthless massacres; for example, when the Jewish town of Qurayza fell, he sold the women and children into slavery and had every man beheaded (and the first head fell to his own scimitar). Muhammad's idea of justice for theft was mutilation by cutting off the thief's hand. Muhammad's last words were, "“I have been made victorious through terror.” Most Muslims recognize the potential of terror, for the penalty for apostasy is death. Accordingly, most Muslims "keep the faith" because they enjoy life.

People of ALL religions would get along better and there would be far less conflict in the world if nobody ever declared their religious beliefs or allowed another to find them out, or asked another of his.

Fewer people would get to know Jesus and lots more people would end up in hell, and that would be a bad side effect, but that wasn't your question......

Probably some people. Christians that are mature understand that everyone has their own type of church they attend. We all don't agree on the same style of worship, but as long as we know that one another believe in Jesus we are here to support and love and encourage each other. Jesus said they would know we are disciples by our love for one another.
