Not really. The main criteria for a 16-year-old driver is survival. You can do better than a Mustang. A brand new one is not all that bad, but you could do better.

There are better cars out there for drivers just starting out. Find something with less HP and a little better traction in the winter. A Ford Focus might not be bad just starting out. Then when you get some experience, trade it for a Stang, then you can get the GT and ride.

no.... i have noticed people who drive mustangs 16,17,25,45 whatever the age seem to think they need to race everything that rolls and is on rubber.

give them a VW Bug, Jetta
Scion TC,
Mazda 6
Honda Fit

something small so they can fit less friends in the car which means less joyriding and better gas mileage

not really even if you buy the V6 wich in my opinion should have never been made its just to much car for a kid that age. think about it. they wont be able to keep thier foot out of it.
