"Why are so many people atheists?" I can't speak for everyone, but I'm an atheist because there is absolutely no evidence to support the existence of a god...any god. Deities are logical impossibilities.
"The Bible states that a fool says in his heart there is no God." Of course it does. It's called a 'fail-safe' device. Telling the believers that anyone who doesn't believe is a fool, only serves to make them feel better about their belief. A statement such as this doesn't hold any real merit.
"I believe we are in the end times." Every past generation has had people who believe this...and they all died disappointed.

Atheist's Wager:
You should live your life and try to make the world a better place for your being in it, whether or not you believe in God. If there is no God, you have lost nothing and will be remembered fondly by those you left behind. If there is a benevolent God, he may judge you on your merits coupled with your commitments, and not just on whether or not you believed in him.
Why do you believe in God?

amen. i truely believe that too, for in the end times ppl will be lovers of pleasure rather than God (2 tim 3:1-5) and that the heart of many will wax cold, and that although they knew God they never glorified Him as God (romans 1:20-21).

I think The Bible is wrong in this case. Relying on faith, defined as belief without evidence, is what a fool does. Faith requires no intelligence, rational thought or observational skills. Noting that there is no observable evidence for the existence of God and concluding that God doesn't exist is what rational thinkers do. That's why there are so many atheists.

Religion is outdated. In our modern world, with our ability to use reason, religion is just silly. There is no good reason to believe in the supernatural. Some may argue that religion is useful. Just because an idea is useful does not make it true. I would argue that truth is the most useful thing we have. Religion is an absolute impediment to progress. Superstitious thinking has never been useful for the goal of improving our lives.

You proved reason number one. There is no God, its simply a way for the people to be controlled (which has also proved hopelessly pointless as more problems have aroused because of religion) Every war, started why? Religion.

I'm agnostic. There still is a 1 to infinity chance that god is real and likewise with each and every other theory and religion. We still can't prove anything.
