Hi, I have a tree leaf identification homework assignment due tomorrow, in which we have to identify 5 different kinds of leaves.
These would be:
Mt. Ash (I already have for sure)
Birch
Alder
Cottonwood
and
Willow.

I scanned some pictures of leaves we have in my yard, and I was wondering if any of these 3 scans fit into those categories? If you can answer even 1, it would be appreciated, thanx so much.

Here's the link to the pictures of the leaves.

I have tried google, and omg there are so many different types of birch it's not even funny. And the third, I can't decide if it's alder or birch. Google is not helpful 'cuz im completely tree retarded, lol. But thank you for your help. I didn't figure i'd get any responses.. Just thought I'd check. Thanx again.

scan0001 is definitely birch, maybe Paper Birch

I think 0002 and 0003 are the same. They are not Alder, Cottonwood or Willow. They look like they could be Canyon Live Oak (native to southern California).

The first two are the same, the third is possibly a birch, I would know more by seeing the bark of the tree. Look them up on Google.

Yep, the first two are the same tree. What would be easier is if you went to google images and typed in the names of the trees you are looking for. That would be faster than trying to take pictures of what you have and asking people to look at them.
