Ok, now that I have real "Atheists" attention. Do you only "think" or do you "feel"? And, why do you answer questions with defensive undertones? I'm not picking a fight, I really want to understand. Anyone willing to be open and honest enough with yourself to look inside yourself and answer my question with respect in a non-defensive tone?

What do they have to look forward to? If their right, a mouth full of dirt forever; if we're right, an eternity in hell. I'd be depressed, too.

God bless!

I don't mind telling you and all your friends that I'm a happy atheist and very positive about my place in the world.
I don't do pessimism just as I don't think of 'gods' and what may happen after I die and the lights go out.
But for many, the ego, being the ego, doesn't like the idea of 'the end' or 'death' so it's happy to go along with any silly idea that deludes the mind into believing all this will be for ever … basking in the glory of 'god'.

I feel sorry for xians cos they imagine there's an invisible man watching everything they say, think and do, 24/7 - is it any wonder many suffer paranoia and other mental diseases that have a lot to do with forcing oneself to believe in something that is obviously a lie under the threat of a torturous everlasting hell?

But thanks for the comedy - you and all your girlfriends sure do make this old atheist laugh.

I'm not sure what you're talking about?

Is it the frustration that we feel with the same questions over and over again? (Do you believe in god? Why not believe just in case? Why are atheists immoral...or on this site?)

Maybe you're confusing a rational, factual response with negativity?

Are you saying that atheists are pessimistic, because they don't share a belief in the afterlife? Personally, I view such a belief as being false hope. I'd much rather have the facts about a situation, than a pipe dream, with nothing to back up the claim...

I'm agnostic and I think you are generalizing too much. I had a Christian neighbor that was the saddest person in the world and I know atheists that are the happiest people you will ever see. Don't be a noob.

No, I don't feel. We are robots who only "think" we love our children. We don't feel it.

Yes I feel, and I feel very strongly about those less fortunate. The difference between you and me, I do it because I want not because "god" said to feel.

Btw, I was a pessimist since way before I became Atheist.

I dont believe they are at least no more so than the christians that post on here.

I assume it always appears that way from both sides because they have such an opposite opinion from each other.

Anything that differs from what any person (atheist or one of religion) will be taken as negative from the opposing party!

"So Called"? If, when you are given the truth and it doesn't fit your beliefs, then don't ask. To say that we are negative and pessimistic is an assumption on your part. I for one happen to be very optimistic and positive. Sorry to bust your bubble.

I dont quite understand what you mean by "so called atheists" but we are not negative and pessimistic. We are just providing our point of view.

this question is stereotypical and derogatory... to categorize a large group of people in this manner is exactly what is wrong with society.

in fact, stating this question makes you a bad Christian... it's not a Christian's job to pass judgment, you clearly need to understand the religion before you become a self proclaimed expert on religious matters.

This is a psychological phenomenon called "Projection." You accuse atheists of your own negativity, in order to better lie to yourself about undesirable aspects of your own beliefs.

If I answer a question with defensive overtones, it is because the question (like this one) has OFFENSIVE overtones.

I did not answer your question with respect, because you did not ASK it with respect.
